> 3 dayThis is my first cordless and so far it’s great! Takes some patience learning how to set up and clean. A little more expensive than I expected but I’ve been waiting for the chance to get a hair free roller and a longer run battery and this beauty delivers.

> 3 dayOk, first the good. This vacuum is very good at what it does. Its great at getting up pet hair and normal messes. The suction is better than on the previous cordless and the cup is larger. Thats always a bonus. The cup detaches completely, so you can clean it with no fear of getting water in the motor. Now, the not so good. Its loud. Someone was using it and I thought someone was weedeating. Second, on the previous model, you could press a lever with your foot to use it without the head, for small places. This one you have to stop, pick up the vacuum and press a button to release the head. If you have a lot of vacuuming, you dont want to take the extra time to do this. In this case, the old model was better. Third, the new model folds up like the old model, which I like. Unfortunately, the new model no longer has a handle to carry it by. I miss this as I move around a lot, going from room to room. Fourth, the price has gone up on these considerably. I always liked that these were very affordable, and I told a lot of people to try these instead of the more expensive brands. These are quickly becoming one of the expensive brands. I hope Shark goes back to being the reasonably priced brand that the low to average income families can afford.

> 3 dayThe, Shark Vertex Ultra Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum is not a replacement for my Shark Vertex with the cord. The Vertex with the cord will do a much better job than the cordless. For me, its more about getting the stairs as well as hard to reach places. Above my head and underneath the bed. Overall, I happy with this purchase. Have a nice day.

> 3 dayWe have a Dyson wireless vacuum that I absolutely love. It’s maybe the second or third iteration of the portable vacuum so it’s an older model. When we bought it Dyson was the only company that made this style vacuum so I decided to splurge and buy it! I decided to give Shark a try now that this style is mainstream because this got good reviews and is a lot cheaper. Dyson has much better suction and just does a better job at picking everything up in one pass. However, the Shark is much more consistent. Our Dyson attachment would always clog or break and stop running in mins of use and there was always some work that would need to be done to get it back up and running. I don’t have this issue with the Shark vacuum. There’s also some handy features - I like that the main tube bends to get under couches. I also like the lights on the main attachment. The overall runtime is better than my older Dyson but maybe new iterations are better at this. I only got about 20-30 mins and now I get about an hour. I will update if anything major changes my opinion but overall, a nice vacuum. Not as powerful as Dyson but there are other factors that make this a worthwhile choice.

> 3 dayJust moved into a new house & it was time to replace my ailing Wind Tunnel. Ive been reading tons of reviews, including Wirecutter & Consumer Reports, trying to decide which upright or cordless to go with. I was will to spend the money on a Dyson if thats what it took to stay ahead of the fur and kitty litter from my two cats. Im not a clean freak, but moving furniture out of my old house (and having dark laminate floors with a lot more natural sunlight in my new house) made it apparent that we were failing to stay on top of the pet hair. After all my research, this seemed like my best option. I crossed my fingers that this was a good choice because the only Shark I had was a hand held model & I wasnt impressed. Also, Wirecutter wasnt a fan of cordless vacuums, but I really wanted that option & there are ALWAYS a few bad consumer reviews -- so hard to know what to believe. Admittedly, Ive only had it for a week, but I LOVE IT!! It does a great job on both carpets and bare floor and also vacuums rugs without sucking the edges into the vacuum. I couldnt believe how much cat hair it picked up (or should I say was missed with my Swiffer) on all surfaces. It also did a better job on stray pieces of kitty litter -- better than my B&D Dustbuster. The light also makes it easier to see where you missed. Its lightweight (but have to get use to a cordless being top heavy) and I love that the power switch stays on (all Dyson cordless models have a trigger that has to be squeezed the entire time youre using it -- no thanks) and very easily switches from carpet to bare floor mode at the power switch. The run time is great and I love that it can get underneath furniture that none of my uprights could. Also, emptying the container is super easy (I will admit that if theres a lot of cat hair, I have to dig some of it out with my hand, but its not difficult, and so what if I have to wash my hands afterwards). Im SO GLAD I got this vacuum and would highly recommend it.

Greater than one weekBuy it no matter what, that’s all I can say. When we purchased corded vacuums I got the Shark Navigator and haven’t gone back to any other corded brand. In choosing cordless though I always thought it was more of a gimmick than a true tool so I tended to buy cheap knock offs to just get pet hair from the floors and possibly something heavier like dirt. Anything else and the two cordless vacuums were so underpowered that I never believed it would come close to really cleaning up much at all. When our third cheap brand cordless died in less than a year, I thought I’d upscale to something that might last over a year. I took nearly a month researching brand after brand to find one that was both affordable, reliable and powerful enough for us. Ultimately I bought this Shark Vertex for the following reasons: 1) At $365 it was half the price of a Dyson. It was still twice as much as what I’d paid for cheap no name brands but I needed something that would actually last. While not cheap, I could afford it. 2) The problem with no name brands is that if one piece is lost or broken they don’t tend to sell parts for them. With this Shark I made sure that there were replacement parts for anything I might break, and there are. Any repairs down the line should cost tens of dollars from now on, not another $100-150 to buy another cheap cordless to throw away a few months later. 3) This thing is powerful. Wow. None of the other cordless vacuums I had really did much on carpet. The brush might grab some of the detritus on the rugs but it was a 50-50 crap shoot. As for pet hair, that was even worse. This Vertex is pretty incredible. On carpet mode I’m able to get it on my deep plush rug and get pet hair and anything else right off. You know it’s working when you can’t see anything on the rug but after you go over it there’s all this captured filth sitting in the container! Not only does the rotating head work really well (and especially the anti hair tangling feature) but the suction is very good. Obviously not as good as the corded but definitely good enough. We are alternating cord-cordless every weekend so that we get extra deep cleaning every other week. Battery power is impressive. We’ve done the two large rugs downstairs, the hard wood floors, the carpeted stairs and four carpeted bedrooms all one one charge-just. But that it’s able to do all of that is really impressive. Additionally you can also purchase another battery for $80 if you think you might runout if power. The “crack” feature which allows the handle to look like a broken arm and get to almost a 90 degree angle so that you can get under furniture is a pretty nifty feature. I thought it was a silly gimmick but I use it quite a bit. One thing that bothers me though is that the little toggle that releases the straight arm into the angle is a small plastic piece that I’m pretty sure I’m going to accidentally break off one day-need to check if THAT part is replaceable. Couple other things I didn’t like: There’s no wall mount but that’s probably because it’s heavy at nearly 10 lbs. Took a couple uses to get used to the new weight but once you get used to it, it’s definitely worth the trade off of some extra weight for extra power. The other thing is that the roller head is not only larger because of the dual rollers, but it’s pretty noisy on the carpet mode. Again, I think it’s a fair trade off to get a louder heavier roller head for much more effective cleaning power. All in all this vacuum is a keeper. The vacuum is warrantied for defects for up to 5 years! For normAl wear and tear of parts that need to be replaced, those items are available on the Shark store and on Amazon.

> 3 dayMy dog is a papillion. Vacuum worked very well until my dog hairs tightened around the smallest wheels. The vacuum no longer slides easily across my rugs due to the inability to completely remove tightened hairs. The wheels are extremely tiny and require tweezers to remove the dog hairs. I would have given the vacuum a higher rating but I need to remove the dog hairs every time I vacuum. If a customer representative would like to reach out with a solution please contact me.

> 3 dayI’ve never spent this kind of money on a vacuum, especially something that’s considered a stick vac. I did my research and settled on this because of the dual power fins, hardwood roller and the tangle resistance. First I’ll list what I like. Likes: - No tangles. It actually works. - Able to get under things b/c handle breaks down - Pivot head - Ease of use (carpet, floors, power boost selectors) - Completely sealed HEPA system - Easy to clean Now here are the things I don’t like. They may be more, but don’t let it detour you. The vacuum does actually work well. Things I don’t like: - The canister is heavy. It’s not easy to do above the head operation or anything that doesn’t have support. - The battery doesn’t last long. Especially on carpet. It definitely requires two charges for a 2,500 house. Half hardwood, half carpet. - Canister fills quickly b/c it actually works. It will pick up stuff you never knew was there. - It’s loud and sounds/feels cheap. Dual Power fins seem like they will wear quickly and unlikely you can find a replacement roller from what I’ve seen. At least with the brushes and fin combo. Overall I like it. I just wish it was a bit more balanced and refined.

> 3 dayReally like this vacuum. Great for a multi dog household and I use it daily. The two cons are not being able to keep the attachments, at least one, directly on the machine. The biggest con would be the shocks. Whew! It zaps quite hard and it seems to get worse as time goes on. I use a silicone oven mitt to keep from getting zapped.

> 3 dayThis is such a well-designed product! The under-furniture feature is clutch. The lights help you spot floor dust or cobwebs day or night. The suction gets everything. Its lightweight and easy to transport up or down stairs. It holds a charge for your whole house and charges quickly. The canister is easy to empty. The attachments are easy to use. This thing is perfection!!
