> 3 dayUpdate: Less than 1 year later :( I’ve had my vacuum for less than a year. Safe to say I wish I had a magic time-turner like Hermione had in order to go back and save myself the $400 I spent. I’ll update the pictures with what I now find myself dealing with - the sweet feature of the arm that bends so you can reach under beds and furniture? I don’t know if it’s faulty or just cheap - but it’s broken on not one, but both sides now. The battery power is still fine. Especially since I have to stop and clean out the head of it with a chopstick because everything gets clogged in it. I can’t vacuum up a cheese-it cracker without the thing getting clogged. The only way I can vacuum is if I sweep manically beforehand and use one of those pet-hair things on my carpets by hand. I guess it just wasn’t meant to stand the test of time. Or a house with pets, or kids, or people with hair. Maybe my household isn’t meant for a cordless stick vacuum - maybe it’s me, not you, Shark. But safe to say, it was a massive waste of money and I’m now back to buying a $100 corded vacuum cleaner and hoping there’s a replacement part for the arm of this thing so maybe I can still use it to tackle the downstairs hardwoods after I sweep? I’d save your money, shoppers. Old Review: Have you ever heard that anecdotal story about the man who couldn’t afford to buy the most expensive, longer-lasting boots so he had to repeatedly buy the cheaper boots? I come from a family where that is exactly what was done. We buy the $100 vacuum cleaner, have to replace it every year, and after 3-4 years of this, we could have bought a decent vacuum. So, I have to preface this with I am coming from owning a Dyson v8 that was a hand-me-down from my ex future mother-in-law. It was on its last leg when she so graciously gifted it to me, even moreso 5 years later. It finally died and rather than spend the $300-$400 on replacement parts and repair, I decided to treat myself. I just bought a house, I deserve a brand new vacuum to go with it. I have a 6 year old son, a 5 year old Saint Bernard, and 2 ambiguously aged felines. I needed suction, I needed power, but I also hate cords and different heads swapped out for different floor types. That’s what annoyed me with the Dyson the most. Not to mention the battery died after 10 minutes. So I stumbled upon this Shark with the display and I got the two batteries because I have a 2-story home built in 1907 with narrow, L-shaped stairs and full carpet upstairs with full, original hardwoods downstairs. Let me tell you: 1400 sq ft livable space with 50/50 carpets & hardwood, even on the full power, doesn’t run through a whole 60 minute battery. But I’m glad I got the two so I suggest you do the same. As far as suction: wow. The carpets upstairs .. I vacuum them weekly and I vacuum the hardwoods downstairs daily. After vacuuming with this vacuum, it was as if I had never vacuumed anywhere in this house since I bought it 3 months ago. It sucks up every fine, coarse, short, long, human, or animal hair that exists and NO not one wraps around the dual fin things that they advertise. On high power, I can vacuum the entire upstairs and still have battery left. Chef’s kiss. 10/10 on power/suction/fins or whatever. As far as the electric shock - I took a photo of the change they must’ve made to this new model - a little metal piece on the handle to ground you. I’ve been using this vacuum for a month on high power, medium pile carpet, and not once felt a shock. My 6 year old vacuums regularly and even with his tiny hands, can maneuver it and not be shocked. 10/10 no shock, except at what comes out of the dust bin. Overall, from a single mom with a hairy house, I’m grateful I took the leap and spent the $400 on this vacuum. It was well worth it. I have a feeling it will be durable and long-lasting as well, but I can always come back in 10 years as long as I and my vacuum survive any pending nuclear war or zombie apocalypse (which I have no doubt we will as I intend on using my vacuum as a weapon in that instance). Oh and I also used the different attachments to clean my car and the thing sucked up at least a large sized McDonald’s French fry which has been petrified and fossilized on they floor of my Nissan, thanks again to my 6 year old. Highly recommend.

> 3 day*SUMMARY: IF YOU HAVE LONG-HAIR DOGS ITS TRULY TANGLE FREE! WORKS WELL ON THICK RUGS BUT FOR FULL PRICE THE SUCTION IS TOO WEAK* Let me start by saying I have a husky who sheds A LOT. I have to sweep my house twice a day just to keep up with her hair shedding, if not it’s in piles around the edges of the house. Every vacuum that claims to be “tangle free” or “made for pets” are crap and hair gets tangled with every use. I was very skeptical this vacuum was actually tangle free (bc it does have bristles! Not just fins like the photos show) but to my surprise- NOT ONE HAIR has gotten tangled in the roller after weeks of use!! (See pictures) Got this vacuum for like 40% off during Black Friday deals. I think it was absolutely worth what I paid- but almost $300 full price is a bit much in my opinion bc it’s not that strong. Ive had much stronger for $150. But for what I paid, I’m very happy with the quality of the product, how lightweight it is, ease of use, battery life, & most importantly that it’s truly tangle free w/ pet hair. That alone makes it worth it for me. ** Things to know: 1. Truly is TANGLE FREE for pet hair (yay!!) only part that gets hairs stuck are the tiny wheels on the corners (see pic) but it doesn’t affect the functionality of the vacuum whatsoever. 2. Its very lightweight- I am 9 months pregnant & have problems with my blood pressure going up w/ little activity & have to be careful. I can easily pick this up & vacuum my couch with it or my rugs w/ no problem. 3. It’s LOUD - low setting isn’t too bad, but high setting needed for carpet/rugs is obnoxious & sounds like a leaf blower. For what I paid, doesn’t bother me. 4. It’s very top heavy & cannot stand on its own - but that should be expected with any brand of vacuum that is this lightweight cordless style. It can lean against the couch or wall (see pic) just fine. 5. Too weak with attachments- I wanted to use this to vacuum my car but the low setting or even high are too weak with the attachments & do a very poor job getting crumbs, dirt & pet hair out of thin vehicle carpet. It got the majority of dirt, but the pet hair & crumbs in the crevices couldn’t be sucked up because the suction is so weak. But when it comes to vacuuming crumbs & hair off my couch, it’s so lightweight I just pick up the vacuum and use it on the couch as if it’s the floor and the rollers get everything up no problem. Won’t be using the attachments much though. 5. Actually does well with thick carpet/rugs - my sons nursery has a very thick shag rug (see pic) that’s almost 3” thick. The vacuum is not anywhere strong enough to pull itself forward on the carpet, but if lean it back a little and use just a little muscle it glides easily across the thick rug (Again I’m 9 mo preggo and I can do this no problem). The rollers get deep into the rug and get about every trace of dirt and hair. 6. Rechargeable battery is nice & imo gives plenty of run time- I get about 40 minutes of use in my mostly hardwood home, during which I have it on high for almost half the time vacuuming thick rugs and my couch.

> 3 dayI ordered this vacuum and after a few uses, the vertex stick broke and wouldnt allow the vacuum to be unfolded in order to actually use it. I called shark ninja and they were mostly helpful. It was about $60 to get a new one as its not a covered part in their warranty. the power is decent for a cordless stick vacuum but the selling point for me is that i can fold this vacuum up and store it under a cabinet. thats something i cant do with my giant kirby

> 3 dayIve had 3 Dyson stick vacuums and cannot live without it. Old one broke, I smashed the head of another and just bought a new one and another was an upgrade. However, with full suction on, they tend to die fast and I cannot finish vacuuming my main floor. So I purchased this Shark and I was surprised at how much I love it compared to the Dyson. Ill explain some pros/cons compared to the Dyson. Pros: -Charge lasts MUCH longer. -Light on end of vacuum (seeing things Id never pick up with the Dyson in dim areas) -Release button in middle for angled vacuuming under couch, chairs etc so you dont have to bend over! Very unique. -Price point (half the price of a top Dyson stick) -Suctions as well as Dyson if not better TBH. I vacuumed with this after my Dyson and it picked things up the Dyson didnt. -Quieter -Head maneuvers similar to Dyson -Similar canister emptying -Stands up right so no lifting off base and has rubber guards on back so doesnt damage walls if sits near one. Bends inhale for easy storage too. -Has two types of suction- hard floor and carpet. As well as boost button. Cons: -Noticeably heavier but only by a few pounds. My arm hurts after awhile unlike the Dyson. Still lighter than most vacuums. -Larger overall. -Need to plug in but easy enough with simple round plug on top where Dyson has easy charging station -Have to hold the boost suction button like the old Dyson. -Need to store on the floor so takes up some space. Overall, its a great alternative and I had to buy it because my Dyson would not complete the task. So if you do not have a Dyson stick, this is probably the next best thing and you wont regret it.

Greater than one weekAfter you get used to pushing the correct buttons (one to release the handle, one to release the filter basket, and others), the added features are great! Maybe label the buttons? The headlamp is bright. Having an extra battery is convenient, the adjustable arm for sweeping beneath furniture saves my back. I would prefer more power on the hard floor setting level 3 (like you get when the carpet setting 3). The adjustable vac settings allow me to vac floor rugs without sucking them up into the vac. The rollers could be a little easier to remove, but the instructions helped a lot. I replaced my Electrolux stick vac and I’m happy with all of the extra features as soon as I’m more proficient pressing the correct button.

> 3 dayWe have only had this vacuum for a few months, but it has many features that the Dyson does not have, at a much cheaper price. Im very happy with this purchase. Now, I just have to see if I can find a crevice attachment for it. It came with some nice attachments, but not a good crevice tool. I recommend this.

18-11-2024I wanted to love this. I thought this would be the cleaner I would have for the rest of my life! Im elderly now, and its just to heavy to get the high parts of my shiplap rooms. I love the cordless feature, BUT to get a really dusty area, I need to use the “turbo” charge trigger. This causes the batery to lose power very quickly. The turbo trigger took every bit of dust off of my window blinds! Worked GREAT! I had to recharge twice to accomplish cleaning my living room. I called customer service, who answered quickly, and was friendly. I was told that a full charge (which takes over 3 hours), will be used up with your finger on the “TURBO” trigger in approximately 11 minutes! This needs to be addressed! Another plus is its very easy to get under furniture without getting on your hands and knees! Shark, you have made a very good attempt at a creating a great cordless vacumn. It really only fails a five star review, because Im elderly now, and find it too heavy to use it with the wand to reach high places, AND the battery needs more strength! I would grade it with a B. If you are young and strong, and want it for quick jobs this might be very good for you. Im going back to a corded model with no batteries. I tried to like this.

> 3 daySaw a test including this Shark Vertex on the Project Farm youtube channel under the best cordless vacuum video (great channel for product tests) and liked it best for our needs (hardwood, some carpet, lots of stairs). I love how modular it is. Im in awe in how little hair ends up in the roller. Have only had one clog to get out of it in about 4 months of use (compared to our old stick vac). Would purchase again for sure!

Greater than one weekI had a Dyson V6 for a few years and absolutely loved it. I purchased one of those off brands form Amazon for approx $200. It worked well enough but crapped out after just more than a year. I found this one on sale on Amazon and it was almost $300. To be honest, the random vacuum performed just as good (maybe a little better). Lets just hope it lasts longer. Having said all of that it very adequate but dont expect a Dyson. Even the V6 out performed this, but I just couldnt see myself paying nearly $500 for a Dyson. The suction is good but only if you hold the extra power trigger which runs the battery down pretty fast. I have a couple Labs and it gets up the dog hair. Nearly every time I vacuum it fills up, and i vacuum almost everyday. I use it on our rugs and mostly hard floors. Id give it 3 and half stars if I could... but dont mind giving the extra half star because of the accessories.
