> 3 dayThe installation was difficult. I wish they would add the tiny screw needed for installation. My new MSI MOBO didnt have it but was saved by a different MOBO. The docs were nonexistent with the device. I was able to see a barcode on the label and it brought me to the website. There I read about installing and cloning the source. What is NOT mentioned is to be careful what you use to clone the source. Sector size does matter in the process and not all clone software are the same. The echo that they supplied worked flawlessly. I might add it took 3 minutes to transfer 200GB. Nice I only gave it 2 stars for install for lack of direction and docs.

05-06-2025Needed a new drive to throw a lot of virtual machines at and I agonized over choosing between this and other Phison E12 models and the HP EX920. I decided on this one because tech is a little newer and flashy and the 5-year warranty. Initially I got read/write speeds of 2400/2700 and wasnt too happy, but it was better than the drive it was replacing (which had speeds of 2200/1400) so I decided to stick with it. After a week of use I realized Windows 10 had automatically encrypted my drives with BitLocker after a fresh install. I turned off BitLocker and happy to see I now get the advertised speeds of 3200/3000. Even the primary VM I run on it gets 2900/2700. Nice! Also happy to see it came with the latest firmware (ECFM12.2 as of this writing) - one less thing for me to muck with. So far, so good - would buy again!

> 3 dayLike the price the Read speed is good 544 mb/s the write is a little slow in the 300 mb/s. I worry the life is going to be much shorter than my Western Digital SSD 500 sata.

Greater than one weekThis is a really good nvme ssd with really good speeds and boot up. There is a problem with cloning the nvme. You need to have a certain software called NTI Echo. You have a verification code to access the software on their website. I got invalid code that didnt work on the website. This program should just be free. If you are trying to clone just go with the sabrient rocket or something else around the same speed, price and the software is ACTUALLY FREE WOW WHAT A MIRACLE.

> 3 dayLets face it, I bought this because it was so much cheaper than the Samsung. For the money, I think it is a good drive. I have done a lot of benchmarking with this, both synthetic tests and real life tests. It falls a little short in both categories. But the bottom line is, it still beats the pants off my regular SATA SSD. I cant speak for the long term reliability, but I have installed 4 of these and have no problems in the 6 months I have owned them. The smaller NVMes seem to have less cache and less performance than the larger size ones. If you buy a 256GB, it is going to perform worse than the 512GB and 1TB models. The speed degradation is in both peak transfer rate and the sustained performance when copying large files. I got the 512GB one and it will drop off when copying very large files. I am using this to store all my VMs and then load and suspend quite a bit quicker than my standard SATA SSD.

> 3 dayIm a system builder, have been for 26+ years and find this drive and its manufacturer to be top-notch. Have not had a problem with the M.2 or SATA form factor of solid state drives. I have used 100s of them in the last few years. Theyre reliable and cost effective.

> 3 dayLike many other purchasers, I poured over dozens of NVMe / storage reviews before upgrading my 6-year-old Samsung SSD. This model, the P34A80 1TB, came out on top over and over again as the best bang for your buck drive. After installing the drive and performing a fresh install of Win10, including several reboots to install all available drivers and updates, the performance was ... disappointing. At best, it was immediately slower than my previous SSD. At worst, apps would take MINUTES to launch (or fail to launch), and Windows would misbehave in strange ways. According to CrystalDiskInfo, IOPS and throughput were abysmal -- roughly a fifth of what I saw in review sites benchmarks. This happens sometimes, and its usually a sign that the drive needs TRIMmed. No problem; I ran TRIM, rebooted, and immediately saw an improvement. However, apps were still sluggish and Windows was still misbehaving (for example, desktop icons would take an additional 10 seconds to appear after logging in; I dont even have this problem on my old laptop with its conventional magnetic drive). I re-ran Crystal, and got the results you see here. While these numbers arent terrible, and some exceed the published benchmarks, overall system performance is poor, and Im still seeing a number of bizarre Windows issues: icons not appearing until 20 seconds after logging in, apps that used to launch instantly now taking 15+ seconds, long boot times, and occasional app failures. I performed yet another fresh Win10 reinstall (not a reset), allowed it to run all available Windows updates, and installed my daily driver software: Firefox, Steam, and pCloud. Performance was fine for a day, but now its gone back to trash. Despite the reasonable benchmark performance, my system is NOTICEABLY slower than it was on my six-year-old SATA SSD. I dont mean it takes a few milliseconds longer to access a large database; I mean it feels like Ive gone back to an old magnetic drive. After reading a few reports of Silicon Power downgrading the chipset between the models that were sent to reviewers and the models that were sent to consumers, I suspect I found the root cause of my issue. Im going to be returning this and going with another brand.

> 3 dayInstalled a couple of these in MacBook Airs that I have refurbished. Important to note that 2014/2015 MB Airs will experience a short delay when booting up (15-20 sec). This is because they are not the OEM drive and the EFI needs time to recognize it. Reset the PRAM and in most cases it will shorten the boot-up delay next time around. After the short delay I mentioned, this drive F-L-I-E-S. Very responsive and not sure you could ask for anything faster. I am currently using the 2TB version of this in my MB Air and response it good. NOTE: If using in a Mac, you need an MVmE adapter to use it. Spend another $9 and get a decent one, not the cheapies. Have beenusing mine for 6 mos now with zero issues.

> 3 dayAmazing seq R/W, but the random 4k is only performing average. Installed in an PCIe adapter (Sintech). The price for this NVME from SP is the cheapest among all the other brand which can perform above 3000MB/s. I think the people are classifying these >3000MB/s as higher end NVME, eg 970, BPX, SX8200, S70, SN750, 760P etc, While for those perform ~2000MB/s as lower end NVME, eg P1, EX900 etc. Dont misunderstand me, all these higher/lower-end NVME are in my Amazon wish list. I am reading all the reviews for comparison purpose. Btw, i have ordered the P1 and it is on the way. If P1 can perform better random 4k, i may swap out this SP. UPDATE 17 Apr 2019: After tried the crucial P1, yes the random 4K is better (~10MB/s more). However the heat from P1 make me feel uncomfortable) Idle: SP only 22 degree but P1 is already 30+ degree Heavy load: SP highest is about 44 degree but P1 come to Red zone, 58 degree. All these temperatures are read from Crystaldisk. Both SP and P1 are install at the same adapter with heat sink (from Sintech). So in the end, I remain at SP. The 1st photo attached earlier is CDM reading without BitLocker. 2nd photo is CDM reading with BitLocker, and can see the Temperature behind also.

> 3 dayI bought a 1tb nvme ssd from you guys about a week ago, and it works great! I went with SP because it had the best bang for the buck I could find without sacrificing on read/ write speeds. I needed to transfer all of my computers data from an old HDD (yuck), and after switching to nvme I cant ever go back. Boot times and system response times are so much faster, and my HDD has been relegated to archival purposes only. - Cant rate for longevity, Ive barely had it in a couple days, but all the benchmarking Ive seen says that it will be more than adequate for a very long time for my uses :)
