Item did not resemble picture. Instead it had a plastic handle, instead of metal as depicted in picture.

My first thing that popped into my head when I pulled it out were: Wow, this is small. The second thing that popped into my head was : This packaging is stupid! (have a knife ready, youll need one, unless you like fiddling with zip ties for half an hour) The third thing that popped into my head was: Who cares if these are small, they are awesome! I am giving this a good review, because I like tomahawks anywhere I can get to use them: Video games (dead rising 2, black ops, red dead redemption), real life, axe throwing competitions on t.v., absolutely anywhere. I am a knife collector, but my love of tomahawks goes deeper than my love of knives. If you are an axe thrower, dont be fooled by the small size, this will throw well, and far, and fast. It is throwing sharp right out of the box, and I nearly cut myself seeing how sharp it was. If you want a small, utility style tomahawk, instead of those flimsy ones we all hate to get suckered into trying out, do not fear, you could put up a fight against a possessed pile of cinder blocks if you needed to. This will kill zombies, mini golems, rabid coyotes, demon monkeys, or anything that you can think of. I wont suggest fighting off a bear or mountain lion, youll need a shotgun for cqb with one of them. Also, these are a much better size for fighting hawks, mostly due to the fact the voodoo hawk looks like it should belong to optimus prime (who wants a tacted out hawk looking like its from planet cybertron?. I also would advise learning how to throw hawks. They are still good defense weapons when thrown. If a guy with tiny knife threatens you, you take out this hawk, which is well under three inches in blade length, hell be scared out of the pantyhose hes using to cover his face. Clearing small brush is nothing but easy with this hawk. I was so into this item I bought 4 of them. My grandfather helped design some of the multi-tools sog makes, or used to make, and still has the one they gave him. This is a multi-tool of tomahawks, so dont be afraid to put it through its paces. Trust me, you wont be able to break it, and if your still unsure about it, try to, sog will replace it with a brand new one. Every sog tomahawk comes with a lifetime warranty. Also buy some grip tape too, you may find the handle to be slippery when youre all sweaty from working with it for a while. Over all, buy MORE THAN one, youll love them.

I was skeptical upon first opening the package as the axe is super light weight. After using the axe to chop up some roots upon trying to dig in the yard I was more than amazed. This axe cut through the roots with such ease and only a couple of strikes. Flip the head over and use it to move the roots away. Washed it off, spray a little WD 40 on it, and it is good to go. Definitely worth every penny.

Unfortunately mine came with what looked like a resealed package. If it was just a damaged package I would of left it at that. But the blade Seemed used from out of the package. Other than needing a really good sharpening and cleaning. I guess its fine. But I was disappointed. Updated: I sharpened the blade, and I put some O rings in the grip slots and that gives it just the right amount of traction on my opinion. So Im bumping it to 4 stars because after that it actually became a tool I use to trim/chop up my front cactus which is huge and has spikes. But Im able to use the back spike to drag those spikey trunks from where I cut them to the curb. So not bad at all. Just needed initial blade care in my case.

This axe from SOG is a real beauty. It is crafted so well and looks so nice, I was hesitant to take it out to the woods and smash and cut things with it. But since Im not going to keep it for a display on my wall, even though tempted, thats what I did. I smashed through a concrete block with little effort using the pointed end. I then whacked on a 3 inch tree branch until it fell, then proceeded to cut it into pieces using the axe blade. For good measure, I cut some dead wood into fire sized lengths. After a good hour or so, I had given the Fasthawk a fair workout. I was ready to give it a well deserved 5 Star rating. Until I was placing it back into its sheath and noticed that the head of the axe was loose. There was a good quarter of an inch of play (movement left to right) between the head and handle. Im pretty sure I can tighten the screws that hold the head onto the handle, but if I had taken the axe out for a weekend or more of hard use, I would not have been that fortunate. Since this is not full tang, there seems to be a flaw in the method they chose to join the axe and handle together. So, I dropped a star from my rating. I would still recommend the Fasthawk from SOG. Ive owned a few axes that would not have destroyed a concrete block so easily and still looked so darned good afterwards. It also cut through a lot of tough oak. I will however bring the proper screwdriver along next time. Just in case. And who knows, to give SOG the benefit of the doubt, maybe I just got one that wasnt tightened correctly at the factory.

The blade came bent to me... Yeah sent it back. The blade is super small so if your planning on using it or anything more than a throwing axe you will be disappointed. ****UPDATED*** So I was contacted by customer support and offered to replace the item at no cost to me and offered a refund. As this is still a small blade I was very impressed with the customer service. They did not need to offer a replacement to me but did there best to make it right. I will purchase from them again due to the superior customer service. Thank you

I purchased these for my sons as gifts and ended up buying one myself. you can get stainless in black or polished. The polished stainless is more visible in the woods which can be good or bad depending on what you are doing. Throwing for fun... good. hunting... bad. although if its in your pack or sheath while hunting not a problem. There are a thousand uses for these at camp. the are EXCELLENT for opening the chest cavity on a large deer. It is a blast to set up a log and practice throwing. Very durable. They come to hunting camp with us every year. Fast Hawk is the smaller version. I use both depending on the job but the Fast Hawk is smaller and lighter so It would be my pick if i had to choose.

This Tomahawk is a great addition to anyones personal arsenal. Light weight, easy to swing, easy to throw and well built. All in all I give this 5 stars. I only regret not buying one or two more, whereas they are great for throwing. It came very sharp and the spike on the back which is also quite sharp is simple and devastating.
