> 3 dayAs I come to expect with all the SOG products I purchase, the FastHawk is a high quality product that once in hand, made me feel like a true American badass. I immediately thought of all the wood, rope and other materials I would annihilate with this hardy peice of un-adulterated SOG steel. The FastHawk is well balanced, and though light weight, has a solid strike-point that gives a satisfying cut. It performs exceptionally well in all use situations and is a must for any camper or outdoorsman. I may even start using it to pop weeds in my yard, so the rest of the neighbors know how awesome this little tomahawk is. Five steel-spangled stars for this awesome blade.

> 3 dayI was skeptical upon first opening the package as the axe is super light weight. After using the axe to chop up some roots upon trying to dig in the yard I was more than amazed. This axe cut through the roots with such ease and only a couple of strikes. Flip the head over and use it to move the roots away. Washed it off, spray a little WD 40 on it, and it is good to go. Definitely worth every penny.

Greater than one weekI like the Tomahawk for the size and its utility is restricted by ...you guessed it...its size. I mean it will not hack through redwoods or denser bones of those crazed zombies...however it will get you out of a fix real quick. It is sturdy, the hatchet surface area is small but usable..and if you miss the target ...dont worry the other side will hit!!! Great potential. Ive used it on wood about 3-5 inches in dia. and it was great for making some caveman like spears and shaping/creating/construction activities. If it ever same down to a situation of do or die...this will be a piece to have on your holster. Sharpen it to perfection ...I give it 4* due to size but this is a great buy and a useful piece. In short-add it to your collection....aim....steady yourself....practice...for those perfect zombie head shots!!!

20-11-20245 stars all round! the axe has been to hell and back. constant bashing against rocks, days submerged in muddy water/sand, left in the snow for months, and it can STILL slash, chop, and stick like no other. the blade is SUPER strong and well built. if it gets dull, just take it to the belt grinder and youre all set. some rust spots here and there, but thats expected from such abuse. il be buying another soon!

> 3 dayItem did not resemble picture. Instead it had a plastic handle, instead of metal as depicted in picture.

24-11-2024I heard a lot of great things about SOG, and was looking for an inexpensive tactical tomahawk. I needed something tough and reliable, but not heavy (I needed it to be lightweight for camping excursions). The Fasthawk is all of these things. Unfortunately if you want something lightweight in the tactical tomahawk department, you sacrifice size. The two things buyers should know 1. This is NOT a full-tang tomahawk. Full Tang, in lamen terms, means the blade/head and the handle are one solid piece. Full Tang tomahawks are typically less likely to break, and have no parts to come lose. I knew this going into the purchase - I figured the lifetime warranty would compensate. 2. The tomahawk is about the size of a carpenters hammer. I did NOT know this. At first I was disappointed at its small size (mainly the diameter and length of the handle), but after getting a feel for it, I actually like that its that much easier to conceal - and since I am only using it for camping excursions and emergency situations, it will do just fine. The blade comes pretty sharp, the weight is ideal, and the pick is angled on one side, and flat on the other (perfect for a wedge and for prying). All in all, I am pleased with the Fasthawk and look forward to putting it to real use.

> 3 dayMy first thing that popped into my head when I pulled it out were: Wow, this is small. The second thing that popped into my head was : This packaging is stupid! (have a knife ready, youll need one, unless you like fiddling with zip ties for half an hour) The third thing that popped into my head was: Who cares if these are small, they are awesome! I am giving this a good review, because I like tomahawks anywhere I can get to use them: Video games (dead rising 2, black ops, red dead redemption), real life, axe throwing competitions on t.v., absolutely anywhere. I am a knife collector, but my love of tomahawks goes deeper than my love of knives. If you are an axe thrower, dont be fooled by the small size, this will throw well, and far, and fast. It is throwing sharp right out of the box, and I nearly cut myself seeing how sharp it was. If you want a small, utility style tomahawk, instead of those flimsy ones we all hate to get suckered into trying out, do not fear, you could put up a fight against a possessed pile of cinder blocks if you needed to. This will kill zombies, mini golems, rabid coyotes, demon monkeys, or anything that you can think of. I wont suggest fighting off a bear or mountain lion, youll need a shotgun for cqb with one of them. Also, these are a much better size for fighting hawks, mostly due to the fact the voodoo hawk looks like it should belong to optimus prime (who wants a tacted out hawk looking like its from planet cybertron?. I also would advise learning how to throw hawks. They are still good defense weapons when thrown. If a guy with tiny knife threatens you, you take out this hawk, which is well under three inches in blade length, hell be scared out of the pantyhose hes using to cover his face. Clearing small brush is nothing but easy with this hawk. I was so into this item I bought 4 of them. My grandfather helped design some of the multi-tools sog makes, or used to make, and still has the one they gave him. This is a multi-tool of tomahawks, so dont be afraid to put it through its paces. Trust me, you wont be able to break it, and if your still unsure about it, try to, sog will replace it with a brand new one. Every sog tomahawk comes with a lifetime warranty. Also buy some grip tape too, you may find the handle to be slippery when youre all sweaty from working with it for a while. Over all, buy MORE THAN one, youll love them.

> 3 dayI am a Cold Steel fan, and really admire their quality. I also like the American Hickory handles. BUT, this tactical tomahawk is well built too !!! It throws well, and can be very, very sharp. I do have some training with different weapons, and this little baby is no slouch in that department. Its real use comes from the fact that it is almost designed to run along the Molle webbing of my Maxpedition Sitka. It comfortably sits there and wont go anywhere despite a rigorous hike. One small velcro tie, and this wont slip out accidentally - no way and no how. But the velcro strip is easily removed, and this Tomahawk deploys nicely. On dried wood, from the middle of the summer, this will service nicely. It is smaller and will require a bit more effort to get rid of a downed tree, but from a survival perspective - just perfect. I have not pressure tested the handle, but suspect it can withstand a brutish amount of force. It wont come a part on you. I bought mine on a bit of sale, and it was well worth the price. Put this on your wish list, and strike when that iron is hot !!!

> 3 dayI just received my sog tacticle tomahawk via u.p.s., it arrived in a timely manner, when I opened it my first reaction was danger, this thing is small....im sending it back! But then after I held it and examined it for a few minutes I could just feel how efficient this weapon is, it has deceptive weight in the head, the blade is thicker than I thought but is good quality steel.....this Is a well built piece of equipment, if im ever in a hand to hand fight with anything or anyone I want This tomahawk in my hand, im impressed...I will of course add some leather lacings to the handle for gripping and control but I think my money was well spent!
