> 3 dayThis ax is well constructed, well balanced (perfect weight) and sticks in the target extremely well. The handle has hit the target hundreds of times and has stood up extremely well. I plan to buy another!

> 3 dayI use this as a hunting hatchet. Chops through bone and wood nicely. Keeps an edge well.

> 3 dayI ordered the Fasthawk for a bed side go-to defense tool. I was surprised and a little disappointed by the small size when it arrived. I have hammers that are bigger. In fact I ended up ordering the full size Tomahawk from Sog as well. It just arrived. I like the larger size but it is MUCH heavier than the fasthawk. I now appreciate how quick and nimble the fast hawk is. For tight hallway fights, give me a fasthawk. For close combat with some room to dance...give me the full size tomahawk. Btw, the handle is a bit slick. Only disappointment in design. It will work though.

> 3 dayCool Tomahawk. This was more of an impulse buy and I havent thrown it yet. The hawk is heavy and appears to be well constructed the blade on the axe is sharp enough to shave hairs, so you know if you run out of razors and thats all you have around you may have options. My one dislike about it isnt even from the Tomahawk itself its from the sheath. If Im carrying this on my belt I wont be able to remove it very fast because you have to unbutton it (no problem) and then grab it by the head and pull its handle up and out which gets snagged every time and this is when Im just holding it not on a belt. So I imagine on a belt it would be significantly more difficult. Tomahawk gets a 5/5 Sheath gets a -1 Total 4/5

> 3 dayWith closer inspection these axes are not true SOG axes. On the bottom of the axe it says China and SOG is an American company. If this matters to you then buy directly from SOG website for an extra 8 dollars. If you dont mind buying fake SOG throwing axes then you are in luck, I landed some pretty great throws with these and they are great. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up on them being knock offs.

> 3 daySpecs: 2 blade edge...3 depth to handle....spike 5/8 x 1/8 taper, 2-1/4 to handle...handle 12 bottom to top of head, x 1-1/8 x 13/16 oval of black grooved poly and hole in butt for lanyard. Head attached to handle by 4 torqex screws with a re-enforcing ferrule. Impressed checkering on sides of head for non-slip pounding. Finished in black. Sheath is stiff black cordura, hollow rivets with 3 snaps on bottom...1-1/4 belt loop. Go to sogknives.com for more specs and a short vid. As much as they want to say, this isnt a campers axe. The edge is semi-hollow ground, and only 9/16 before the hole in blade, limiting the amount of resharpening. I was able to shave my arm with the factory edge. The edge angle is such that the cutting edge starts cutting at the top first when striking. The spike is an abrupt angle edge. Handle is grooved, but it is still somewhat slick. Tried this axe out on a 55gal drum; pierced the sides easily with only marring the paint, using the spike. The Mrs. performed it easily but complained the handle was a bit slick. She chopped on some red fir firewood, but it was near impossible to split the wood due to light weight. This axe is designed with more towards Urban Survival in mind. Cutting through drywall was not a problem. It did take repeated strikes for about 4 minutes to get through a wall stud. Tried the spike on a junk vehicle side window & it shattered it easily. We had a fresh, road killed deer near our place. The spike will easily pierce the skull bone with little effort. The cutting edge will penetrate all the way through hide & meat until stopped by the handle. Long swinging slashes to the ribcage severed the ribs completely. Very little dulling of edge even after repeated strikes into bone. Axe cleaned up quickly with soap & water. Wife likes this tool. Has a good use as a vehicle tool when critters reach in through the window and breaking out windows for escape. Would be useful in cutting a last ditch exit out of a room when other exits would be blocked. Would make a great defensive tool in hands that had a bit of training. The slick handle can be overcome by a nylon cord loop or wrapping the handle with para-cord. The sheath has a lot to be desired for belt carry, but the hollow rivets allow for lashing to a bailout bag. Can be attached under the dash by screws through the hollow rivets. Great cutting tool for the price, but a poor choice for a small camping axe. Get a Estwing axe for that. Only main complaint I have is that it is Made in China. Gave it a 5 Star due to the intended design of personal defense/escape tool.

> 3 dayI already have one, this was a gift, I have punished mine for a few years, I throw axes, it’s outlived all of the other axes so far, it’s accurate as hell for me. Moving or stationary targets. Just got the Sog throwing knives myself, so far so good, again a nice product.

> 3 dayI do not give 5s easily but there one major reason. Bought this for my sons 9th birthday and he stuck this thing within a couple of throws. It is a great size for both children and adults. The learning curve in minimal. We do not land every throw but the success rate is perfect for keeping confidence and interest up. Product: The handle does feel a bit slick but that hasnt caused any issues. This handle is tough as nails though, we throw on the end grain of logs and this handle has been taking a beating. The screws which secure the head to the handle have remained locked. If they do ever loosen Id just use some thread lock to fix the problem.
