> 3 dayI gave this gift to my brother as a Christmas gift. He was totally excited about it when he opened it...it looks like a top-quality piece of equipment! The only down-side that ruined Christmas: When he opened it, his girlfriend was sitting next to him on the couch. Within seconds, she wanted to hold it. He went to pass it to her, but it slipped out of her hand and fell 6 inches onto her leg. It didnt seem like it fell far enough to have any momentum, but the thing is so sharp that it cut through her jeans and left a bleeding, inch long gash in her leg! We wanted her to go to the ER for stitches, but she decided she would take the scar instead of going to the ER on Christmas day. And yes, she now has a scar.

> 3 dayThis beautiful, fun and exciting weapon of mass distraction.... I use this beast and the 2 others I bought as throwing tomahaks....As I live in a semi - upscale neighborhood my neighbors seem think I may be unstable due to my activity of choice, they all sit on their balconies and watch me drill these bad boys into my backboard with a thunderous ca-thunk (much like it was thrown by the hand of Thor himself). The only inadequacy I found in my order of this fine product was that I failed to order 3 more. 10/10, I recommend. Id give them 7 out of 5 stars if I was allowed to by this infernal Amazonian machine. In all seriousness, keep up the good work SOG, as always a tremendous product, you sick beautiful prodigal men of savagery.

> 3 dayI liked everything about it and I take it everywhere with me that I can. I use it for throwing mostly but I have used it to chop kindling and as a hammer once. It is surprisingly durable and I have put it through so much already. I do love to throw my Fasthawk though and I throw it everyday. S.O.G.s are the best!!

> 3 dayI like the Tomahawk for the size and its utility is restricted by ...you guessed it...its size. I mean it will not hack through redwoods or denser bones of those crazed zombies...however it will get you out of a fix real quick. It is sturdy, the hatchet surface area is small but usable..and if you miss the target ...dont worry the other side will hit!!! Great potential. Ive used it on wood about 3-5 inches in dia. and it was great for making some caveman like spears and shaping/creating/construction activities. If it ever same down to a situation of do or die...this will be a piece to have on your holster. Sharpen it to perfection ...I give it 4* due to size but this is a great buy and a useful piece. In short-add it to your collection....aim....steady yourself....practice...for those perfect zombie head shots!!!

> 3 dayI already have one, this was a gift, I have punished mine for a few years, I throw axes, it’s outlived all of the other axes so far, it’s accurate as hell for me. Moving or stationary targets. Just got the Sog throwing knives myself, so far so good, again a nice product.

> 3 dayWith closer inspection these axes are not true SOG axes. On the bottom of the axe it says China and SOG is an American company. If this matters to you then buy directly from SOG website for an extra 8 dollars. If you dont mind buying fake SOG throwing axes then you are in luck, I landed some pretty great throws with these and they are great. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up on them being knock offs.

19-11-2024I got this tomahawk because my friends and I got into throwing bladed objects. It flies well. The blade came fairly sharp, I have dulled it and nicked it up pretty good, but it still sticks in wood well. The handle has gotten pretty beat up as well from throwing it and missing, which can be sharp at spots, but a little sanding fixed that. It seems like the tomahawk could be tricky to hang on to of wet. The sheath it came with sucks. The snaps are hard to snap but come undone easily, I bought the hard plastic sheath for this and its almost a must if you wish to carry this. This tomahawk is a good all a round tool, that you could find a hundred uses for, however it would only be good and not great at any one of those uses, this is more of a novelty item for me.

> 3 dayUnfortunately mine came with what looked like a resealed package. If it was just a damaged package I would of left it at that. But the blade Seemed used from out of the package. Other than needing a really good sharpening and cleaning. I guess its fine. But I was disappointed. Updated: I sharpened the blade, and I put some O rings in the grip slots and that gives it just the right amount of traction on my opinion. So Im bumping it to 4 stars because after that it actually became a tool I use to trim/chop up my front cactus which is huge and has spikes. But Im able to use the back spike to drag those spikey trunks from where I cut them to the curb. So not bad at all. Just needed initial blade care in my case.

> 3 dayI purchased these for my sons as gifts and ended up buying one myself. you can get stainless in black or polished. The polished stainless is more visible in the woods which can be good or bad depending on what you are doing. Throwing for fun... good. hunting... bad. although if its in your pack or sheath while hunting not a problem. There are a thousand uses for these at camp. the are EXCELLENT for opening the chest cavity on a large deer. It is a blast to set up a log and practice throwing. Very durable. They come to hunting camp with us every year. Fast Hawk is the smaller version. I use both depending on the job but the Fast Hawk is smaller and lighter so It would be my pick if i had to choose.

> 3 dayWhen I bought this I was stoked about getting it. Great color and was what I was going for in a tomahawk. However, it took over a month to get to me. Wasnt too thrilled about that. Secondly is when I was opening it I noticed that the blade is nothing like I expected. It is super small. I mean it looks like something I would hand to a dwarf to make it look big. Dimensions are as follows the tip spans 2 inches from top to bottom. The length is about 6 and a half inches (which is okay) and the spike is 3/4 of an inch. Overall not bad but I was expecting more like 3 1/2 for the blade. But for the use as a tomahawk the weight is good and properly balanced if you ask me. I love the look of it but like I said wish it was a tad bit bigger.
