> 3 dayI bought these headphones because they are the most recommended bluetooth set on the internet. I guess I just disagree with everyone on the internet because these did not impress me at all. $400 is by far the most money ive ever spent on headphones and these are not even in the top 5 of best headphones ive owned. I have a $50 gaming headset (hyperXcloud) that sound better than these. My airpod pros (2nd gen) also deliver better sound quality. My Between Pros also sound better. Earbuds should not be outperforming the supposedly best headphones on the market. Pros: They are very comfortable and the ANC is among the best on the market. The connectivity and app are flawless. Phone calls are also crisp and clear both ways. Ive had 0 problems with any glitchy stuff happening. Cons: The sound, while clear, is flat and quiet. It honestly sounds like the sound coming out of your phone, just in a headphone enviroment. If you like bass then dont buy these. Im not even a huge bass guy but I like to hear bass where there is supposed to be bass. It sounds like the bass is somewhere far off in a distance. I youtubed all the EQ settings on these and got them to sound fractionally better but nowhere near where a $400 headset should. I know sound is subjective and this is merely my opinion. But after a quick google search of sony XM5s sound terrible there were plenty of others that agree. If these are in fact the best the bluetooth headset market has to offer, then im extremely unimpressed. 3 stars because the connectivity, comfort and ANC is truly top tier. However, the #1 thing a premium headset should do is sound premium. These do not. I will be returning these and looking elsewhere for a headset.

Greater than one weekReally good headphones! The only thing I would note is that it is not made for working out. The fit is not tight so if you workout and tend to do a lot of movement, this is not for you. Its also not water proof or water resistant so be careful with sweat as well. Other than that the noise cancelling and the easy access control are all nice

09-06-2025Felt pretty happy with the 1000XM3 until I got the XM5. Clarity and dynamics are vastly improved. Bass pressure is incomparably better without being boomy. And comfort is better than the XM3, no more discomfort after long flights. A brilliant pair of headphones.

> 3 dayAfter use this headset for a while, I found it is just a perfect headset except one thing. It create noise by itself. If you wear it , slightly shake your head, you will hear the leather itself tweak, make uncomfortable noise. like some one squeeze plastic bag near your head. If you like squeeze plastic bag sound, this headset is your perfect choice!

> 3 dayEasily the best headphones I have ever owned. Pros: Best sound for the price Nice EQ settings (could be more advanced though) Clean & Modern Design Top tier ANC (Noice Cancellation) (better than Airpod Max) Cons: Not as portable as XM4s Not quite as padded as XM4, but still very comfortable to me (this is subjective) Pass through is not quite as good as Airpod Max (but remember ANC is better on XM5s)

> 3 dayWell these headphones are not spectacular they get the job done. The phone call quality is much better and I personally think the sound is better but not by much. The design is not that special and basically everything that was on it before is on it now. I do not like that the auto pause feature doesnt work that well. They need to just remove speak to chat because it really doesnt work that well. They are very comfortable has excellent multi-point connection. Overall these are great headphones if you have the XM4 I would say upgrade if you would like to have better call quality but other than that you dont need to upgrade. If you want to upgrade I would wait until they go on sale or you can get them on a payment plan.

> 3 dayI had a very nice performing budget ANC headphones for a few years, which unfortunately not sold anymore. As they statted peeling off and I accidentally broke one side, decised to go to a new pair. The issue is that I recently was very disappointed with high advertised medium priced headphones, so after a bunch of research I went to these, as multiple sources indicated xm4 or xm5 as best recommendation. It is understated luxury. Box not flashy, headphones smooth without any huge brand names, fit perfectly, came in galf charged. After turning them on, I did not even need to invoke pairing dialog on my laptop, it automatically jumped out offering to pair. After paired to my phone and installing app, it automatically caught that I use Google Assistant and not Alexa and suggest to be linked to. Taps and swipes for managing volume, pause, tracks are so intuitive, I needed only to glance through the instructions and see hold and swipe, and it made sense. So far first impression is great - you pay not for flashiness, but for comfort, quality and ease of use. I still need to read more about multipoint pairing between phone and laptop, as I want to be able to listen to music from phone, but respond to meeting calls coming in from laptop wherever needed.

> 3 dayIt’s really too bad Sony can produce headphones that work so well, but they cannot produce a decent physical headset. The ear cups on these are noisy! They squeak and scrunch with the tiniest motion of the head, destroying the purpose of noise cancellation. Think they’re going back.
