> 3 dayI flight long haul international flights and need to cancel out the plane engined nose. My old bose headphones were ready to retire and I wanted to research Sony. I don’t mind paying the high price but I do expect top quality. Unfortunately, the seal around the ears was not tight enough, and the sensory touch activated with one strain of hair

> 3 dayGreat headphones. I like them a lot and think they are great. A little overpriced yet worth it if you listen to music a lot. I gave it a 4 because it has a little too much bass. Better than Bose headphones though.

> 3 dayHey there, cats and kittens, let me tell you about these noise-canceling headphones, see? Theyre pretty good, I aint gonna lie. They cancel out all the noise like nobodys business. But let me tell ya, this adaptive ANC thing is driving me nuts! I mean, Im trying to yodel here, you know, and all of a sudden the headphones start adjusting the noise cancellation and it throws me off my game. I cant be having that, see? I need my yodeling to be on point at all times. But, aside from that, these headphones are the bees knees. The sound quality is top notch and the battery life is the real McCoy. And let me tell ya, they look sharp too. Ive had people come up to me on the street and ask where I got them. So, all in all, these headphones are the cats meow. But if youre planning on doing any serious yodeling, you might want to turn off that adaptive ANC. Otherwise, you might find yourself in a real jam, see?

Greater than one weekThe sound and noise cancelation is very good. I hate the volume control though, it is very finicky. I also wish the app would allow you to lock it to one device while it is connected to multiple devices. When I am listening to something on my tablet, if the sound pauses for even a microsecond it always switches over to my TV audio device. I dont want it to switch unless I tell it to. It is a major pain having to constantly reopen the app and switch it back. (hoping somebody at Sony reads this)

Greater than one weekIt’s really too bad Sony can produce headphones that work so well, but they cannot produce a decent physical headset. The ear cups on these are noisy! They squeak and scrunch with the tiniest motion of the head, destroying the purpose of noise cancellation. Think they’re going back.

> 3 dayFirst I had the XM2,3,4 so I loved this type of Sony headphones but this is probably last one. Right from the start, it feel cheap. They cut back on material to save cost it seemed. They cut back on feature such as NFC. And you cant fold it anymore with this new design. Initially, you cant turn off adaptive sound control which means the headohone will automatically change noise cancelling to ambient sound base on your action. Look, I only wear this indoor so I always just need Noise Cancelling! Their stupid new tech will always get it wrong and when it changes, it took about 2 seconds. Its very annoying! Edit: Okay, they did update the adaptive sound control so we can in fact leave it to just noise cancelling 100% of the time. But it shouldnt need an update just to do this. Now, finally the nail to coffin is this thing sometimes couldnt stop beeping! With their touchpad control, when you tap left or right of the headphone, you are suppose to hearing a tiny beep as feedback so that youd know you tap it 3 times for example. But on mine, when absolutely nothing is touching those touchpad, it kept on beeping sometimes. In worst case scenario, it beeps hundreds of times per minute forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on to solve it temporarily..... Now, please understand, I went through internets trying to resolved this. People have had this problem on Sonys forum and many others discussion site such as StackExchange and reddit. NO, I cant do anything in option to stop it. My touchpad control option was already OFF. It was always off because Ive never need to use it. The Quick Access settings are always NONE because once again, I never need to change it from Noise Cancelling. Please believe me, Ive search through forums, tried every possible options in the app, NONE of them work.... The only conclusion at the end of every discussion is Sony must update it so that it could be an option from the app. But as of June of 2023, there was no option to turn the beeps off! This of course is deal breaker for me which is a shame because I always preferred Sony NC and sound quality and the XM5 sound quality is great when it wasnt interrupted by uncontrollable beeping. I believe Ill try Bose next year.

> 3 dayI compared these to the AirPods Max and I prefer these a lot more. These actually last 30 hours. I like how light these headphones are and how it’s comfortable even using them with glasses. I have had many problems with other headphones because they weren’t comfortable with glasses on but these are so comfortable with glasses
