> 3 dayGreat headphones overall they were very light but im my honest opinion I like better the AirPods Max because they sound more loud and the spacial audio and I feel the the max are more crisp in sound than the xm5. very sand that I have to return it because I really was looking forward to keep it

> 3 dayIt’s really too bad Sony can produce headphones that work so well, but they cannot produce a decent physical headset. The ear cups on these are noisy! They squeak and scrunch with the tiniest motion of the head, destroying the purpose of noise cancellation. Think they’re going back.

> 3 dayI cant walk to my nearest coworkers desk without losing signal when these are connected to my computer...seems like a huge miss in the design. I work in a tiny office (the whole place is 1,000 sqft) and with these connected to my PC I can only move maybe 8 ft in any direction before the sound becomes crackly and eventually disconnects entirely. So they work for 5% of my 1,000 sqft space. Im returning them, they otherwise work okay but honestly not any better than my last $200 pair of headphones which actually stays connected. Sad I wasted time on these. Word of warning - if you have coworkers with deeper voices, these will not block ANY of that sound whatsoever.

> 3 dayThis was a gift for my wife and she literally cant stop using it. Work, gym (which I advise her not to), airplane she loves and more. Huge success for Christmas gift!

> 3 daySo I did tests on several different headphones, Sony, Audio Technica, Bose, Apple, etc. Noice cancelation, sound quality, weight, comfort, you name it the mark V comes out on top. Even being more inclined to buy Apple, I still felt there were more pros for the Sonys than the AP Max.

> 3 dayI compared these to the AirPods Max and I prefer these a lot more. These actually last 30 hours. I like how light these headphones are and how it’s comfortable even using them with glasses. I have had many problems with other headphones because they weren’t comfortable with glasses on but these are so comfortable with glasses

> 3 dayI’d been debating on whether I would get these headphones or the Apple headphones. Glad I went with the Sony. Fits well around the ears and doesn’t hurt at all even if I wear them for 4 or more hours. Great noise cancellation and love being able to use the touch/tap features.

Greater than one weekFirst I had the XM2,3,4 so I loved this type of Sony headphones but this is probably last one. Right from the start, it feel cheap. They cut back on material to save cost it seemed. They cut back on feature such as NFC. And you cant fold it anymore with this new design. Initially, you cant turn off adaptive sound control which means the headohone will automatically change noise cancelling to ambient sound base on your action. Look, I only wear this indoor so I always just need Noise Cancelling! Their stupid new tech will always get it wrong and when it changes, it took about 2 seconds. Its very annoying! Edit: Okay, they did update the adaptive sound control so we can in fact leave it to just noise cancelling 100% of the time. But it shouldnt need an update just to do this. Now, finally the nail to coffin is this thing sometimes couldnt stop beeping! With their touchpad control, when you tap left or right of the headphone, you are suppose to hearing a tiny beep as feedback so that youd know you tap it 3 times for example. But on mine, when absolutely nothing is touching those touchpad, it kept on beeping sometimes. In worst case scenario, it beeps hundreds of times per minute forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on to solve it temporarily..... Now, please understand, I went through internets trying to resolved this. People have had this problem on Sonys forum and many others discussion site such as StackExchange and reddit. NO, I cant do anything in option to stop it. My touchpad control option was already OFF. It was always off because Ive never need to use it. The Quick Access settings are always NONE because once again, I never need to change it from Noise Cancelling. Please believe me, Ive search through forums, tried every possible options in the app, NONE of them work.... The only conclusion at the end of every discussion is Sony must update it so that it could be an option from the app. But as of June of 2023, there was no option to turn the beeps off! This of course is deal breaker for me which is a shame because I always preferred Sony NC and sound quality and the XM5 sound quality is great when it wasnt interrupted by uncontrollable beeping. I believe Ill try Bose next year.

Greater than one weekThese headphones were faulty when I got them. They wouldn’t stay connected to any device and randomly disconnected. I returned it and ordered a new pair but it took me a lil over two weeks to get a refund. I had to hunt drop it off at a specific Amazon locker and then contact customer sales after two weeks of not receiving updates. Luckily, they refunded me right away once they confirmed they got it. So here’s my revised review of the product. The Bluetooth connection does need to be set EACH time I use it with any apple products. Mildly annoying bc I’d love for it to connect automatically but I have it paired with three nearby devices so this is acceptable to me. The new pair sometimes disconnects randomly but not much and a quick button click gets it back on. With zoom it’s even more weird but I think that’s more to do with zooms interface than these headphones so I’m not faulting them here. Otherwise the sound quality is nice AF! And the cushions are ultra plush. I love it! I’ll update again if more things pop up but so far so good.

13-06-2025I have the WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM4. The noise cancellation is far, far better in the M5 version. I miss the voice prompts of the M4. Both sound similar. I gave away the M4s.
