> 3 dayI owned the WH-1000XM3 & they were the best ANC headphones Id ever encountered, until the WH-1000XM4 came out & yes I did upgrade. The WH-1000XM4 was a big improvement over the already extremely hot WH-1000XM3. Needless to say I wondered if Sony would make a WH-1000XM5, because how do you improve on perfection??? Well I pre-ordered these from Amazon & I got the this afternoon. Sony not only improved perfection, they redefined it! The WH-1000XM5 are incredible! The previous WH-1000XM4 had 1 Sony QN1 ANC processor with 4 microphones & it did an amazing job at noise cancellation! It even had a handy button on the headphones themselves that once pressed would start an automated ANC optimization algorithm. Well, these new WH-1000XM5 not only have an updated version of Sonys QN1 ANC processor, it has 2 of them! Where the WH-1000XM4 had 4 microphones, the WH-1000XM5 has 8 microphones. Each updated Sony QN1 ANC processor has 4 microphones attached to it. Not only is that a dramatic improvement, you no longer have to start the ANC Optimization, as the WH-1000XM5 constantly monitors your environment & adjust the ANC to automatically block out nearly all noise!!! Further more it actually works extremely well! The WH-1000XM5 are nearly completely silent! They also support LDAC via Bluetooth with ANC & they sound phenomenal! Now I actually did buy all of these myself, trust me I wish Sony would let me test and/or review these things! But I have actually owned the WH-1000XM3, WH-1000XM4 & WH-1000XM5 & the WH-1000XM5 is absolutely the best of the best!

> 3 dayThese headphones do a great job with ANC but if you take the bus in Los Angeles like I do during rush hour 5 days a week, you will still hear noises and chatter. Also, the size of the case will take up a fair amount of space in your backpack.

Greater than one weekGreat Noise canceling and great audio quality for Wireless Headphones needs some adjustments in the EQ to get perfect listening experience and the App that goes with it also does so much and gives you access to so much But the box was damaged that it arrived in the amazon box and the Product box looked like someone played soccer or something with it and also there as a greasy substances in the box tried contacting supplier but no replay there is no damage to the headset that I can see But this would not of been a problem if I was not in SA does is not me saying stop shipping to SA I do appreciate you guys for shipping to SA

> 3 dayI wanted SO SO badly to like these. They sound AMAZING (Sonys rich and full sound is unmatched). They are SUPER lightweight The noise cancelling is BETTER than the Apple Airpods max headphones Very nice travel case The only reason I returned them is even on their smallest adjustable setting they were too big for my normal sized head. They hung just a little too low on my ears. ALSO the top padding was oddly not comfortable, created a pressure point on the top of my head- maybe because the pressure of the tension holding them to my ears was not very strong, so the brunt of the weight was distributed to the top of the head band.

> 3 dayThe sound quality on these is really good, but not exactly up to par with some other comparably priced headphones. The difference really is very small though. The noise canceling and its associated features more than make up for that. If noise canceling is an important feature for you then these are the headphones to get. My favorite thing about these overall is just how comfortable they are. They fit all the way over my ear, which some other brands do not and end up being partially ON ear, which is annoying. The clamping force is fairly light, and the ear cups are breathable enough not to get too hot or sweaty while wearing them. Bottom line - I really love mine.

Greater than one weekI bought these initially for air travel as I no longer appreciate the loud “white” noise of the cabin. I finally was able to sleep going to Europe. I bought these “Used, Like New” for about 1/2 price and it was a bargain! They included everything, even the packaging that looked new. Oh! I also wore these in the hotel when I slept and they were comfy. Basically, I bought these for one purpose, but ended up using them more often than what I intended.

> 3 dayI fly often. I use noise cancelling headphones to make my plane time more peaceful and enjoyable. I owned the M4s for a while and loved them, so when Sony brought the M5 to market, I couldnt wait. I was hesitant to pay this kind of money, of course, but I read several professional reviews that raved about them. I will say right up front, I just couldnt hear any difference in the noise cancelling from my M4s. I gave my M4s to my partnerer who travels with me most of the time, so I am able to switch with her for comparison. I just cant hear a difference. But, Im that guy who always wants the latest and the best in tech, so I thought I would be happy. Heres the thing. My new M5s are constantly shifting the noise canceling. Im sitting on the plane listening to relaxing music and it is like they shift from canceling to ambient noise. It lasts for 5-10 seconds, then they shift back. It happend every 5 minutes or so. I have tried turning off adaptive sound control, but it doesnt make a difference. Unfortunately, I went a while without traveling right after I purchased these and so didnt really start experiencing this until a while after purchasing. It is probably to late to return, but I will try. My advice would be to save the money and buy the M4s. They are certainly cheaper and in my experience, much better.

> 3 dayBOSEs QC45 noise cancellation is better than SONYs, I can still hear the noise of children, but I cant hear it at all when I wear BOSEs QC45, but the sound quality of the headphones is very good.Ill keep it because I need a wired headset.

> 3 dayExcellent! I was amazed at how many different sounds I was able to hear. Songs I has been listening for decades that felt I was finally hearing fully with these headphones. Tones, sounds, that were part of the song all along but that I was discovering for the first time with these headphones.

> 3 dayBought these for my partner, who adores them for their light weight, comfortable fit, good touch controls, good quality voice pickup for video calls, and excellent noise-cancelling ability. I like them because we can talk - they just palm the right earcup to activate pass-through mode. Or, if we need a longer chat, they can pull off the headphones which automatically pauses the music. This has drastically reduced the number of annoyed looks I get. Win-win! Out of the box, the sound quality on these cans is decent but the headphones are more bass-heavy. The low end sounds a little “muddy”. There is an EQ adjustment in the accompanying Sony app, but after downloading it, quickly uninstalled it because the software demanded a lot of personal information. Wed rather rather live with the just-tolerable sound profile than give up all that information to Sony. One star off, Sony, for being just a bit too greedy and not respecting privacy; the app should come with no strings attached, especially given the cost of these headphones.
