Es uno de los papeles que mas me ha gustado. Es grueso, se puede trabajar muy bien con aguadas y la deformación es casi nula, y eso porque no lo fijé antes de pintar. Lo recomiendo muchisimo.

I really like the Strathmore 400 series watercolor blocks and journals and this is not the same paper even though it says watercolor paper and 400. Its sized quite differently. This paper is quite brittle, buckles substantially with watercolor and is very stiff. Be prepared to encounter a much cheaper paper in this visual journal. I was very surprised. And if youre familiar with wood pulp paper, trying to flatten it after getting it wet and it dries warped is nearly impossible. I might recommended this paper for non-wet media. I dont know, its just not that great. Im even rethinking my initial 2-star review because I just cant recommend it for any level of artist, be it beginner, student, or intermediate. Especially not for beginner who might think this paper is as good as it gets for watercolor. It isnt. Spend more for a better paper and youll be delighted. A better choice would be to get the 400 series watercolor blocks or the soft or hardcover 400 series watercolor sketchbooks. Or go crazy with the 500 series 100% cotton watercolor paper which is wonderful. The stuff in this visual journal is far below even subpart than those alternative choices in the 400 series and the beautiful 500 series.

The paper is not great for watercolor. Overall good for practice and sketching.

I tried to include pictures under a number of watercolor conditions. This paper was incredible. It absorbs with with a bit of lag so that you can blend the colors. I have since discovered that a quicker absorbency was favorable for my personal interests, because I literally dont know what Im doing in watercolor. And I just go really fast and blend hardcore with opaque colors generally. But this water color notebook has been my favorite. It does well under a number of conditions with several different types of watercolor including metallic and glitter. I will be buying this again

Beautiful heavy paper for my water color journal.

Can I say how much I love this journal? Heavy paper that doesnt move when I get enthusiastic with the water. A small size so it isnt intimidating. Im pretty sure Strathmore intended this range of journals for beginners because they are so up front with what kinds of paper is in each one and what size it is. I have a larger journal with mixed media paper that is thinner but which I also love. It doesnt matter if you are a beginner or an expert. This journal, and the others in the range are safe to buy, and not all that expensive. You will not be disappointed.

I like this journal but I took a point because the useable paper is a bit narrower than I prefer for a sketchbook. The paper quality and the price are excellent. While I do not think this will replace my go to travel watercolor sketchbook, I would not hesitate to pick it up again in a pinch.
