A nice journal for my use. Like the weight of the paper and it lays flat although the spiral binding is bulky. Im used to flat binding but the journal will be a good travel piece. Like that the cover page can be removed and a nice brown cover remains.

I use it a sketch book, also allows you to use alcohol based markers in it without much worry of destroying the paper,

Favorite watercolor sketchbook

Great quality, perfect size as a painting/sketching journal.

Attractive, sturdy notebooks. I have them in several different papers - my favorite is the Bristol vellum as it has a little tooth and good weight. The mixed media is also nice but a lighter weight.

I purchased this journal to practice with watercolor, guache and acrylic paints. The fact that this is 100% cotton paper makes this journal a great deal, however, when practicing with watercolor I find it difficult to do various techniques at a large scale. Wet on wet is a struggle as the paper dries fast and will warp. The painting I did had little cauliflower blooms in the background when I attempted to do a loose style using the wet on wet technique. You can achieve a decent watercolor painting but you will struggle. I recommend buying this journal if you plan to use other mediums that do not require as much water.

Too expensive. Go buy Canson multimedia for 1/2 the price and same quality. Last years art teacher requested Canson and the art book is prefect, great quality pages, hard cover, good perforations, and great price. This years teacher requested Strathmore. I figured I would buy it despite the price difference because I thought it must be better for a more advanced class, turns out its a rip-off.
