I have used the standard size (11 x 8.5) books as well as this particular size so Ive had enough experience to form a proper review. Pros: - small enough to keep at your desk at work and put in a bag when on the go - smooth paper that doesnt bleed through the other side so you can do ink drawings on both sides of one page - sturdy cover that protects the drawings inside - great for professional quality tools (Crayola markers will NOT look good so if you buy this as a gift, make sure you get your friend/family some nice pens or markers to go with) Cons: - the paper quality doesnt 100% hold onto inks and will leave streaks behind (I use faber castel pens - black and white and color) or if you have a sketch underneath, your eraser may lift up some of the ink or smear certain marker types - if you rely on pencils for your under-drawing and make many mistakes, there is a possibility they wont be completely erased from the page, bad if you are scanning your images to color digitally as some gray smudges might be left behind Overall, there are better quality products for those who are seeking to create professional works of art to sell or give as gifts. If you are feeling super serious, there are some vids on YouTube that judge the quality of various Bristol products (along with Japanese products like Deleter paper). However, if you are an inking/coloring hobbyist or beginner and looking for paper that is higher quality than run-of-the-mill sketchbook paper, this is a good product. Despite my criticisms, I am very happy with my sketchbook and will definitely buy again when the pages are full.

Sketchbook was recommended in a class I was taking and got lots of great reviews. I mean…it’s good. No complaints at all. Paper stock is good and fairly heavy. It is described as multi-media. Just be aware that repeated layering of watercolor or gouache will cause the paper to buckle, though not bleed through. It’s actually NOT that great for fine Micron pens as they tend to dig into the paper surface quite easily, unless you really keep a light touch. . Spiral pages always work for me. I can tear out stuff I don’t like!

Nice heavy paper, not too rough, not too smooth. Seems to take ink very well. I like the small, portable size of this one too.

Perfect travel notebook! The quality of this paper is much better than I expected - I can paint on both sides with multiple washes without any issues. I love the size because it easily fits in my bag for traveling and looks very discreet once i removed the front visual journal piece. I was looking for a great travel notebook to take on the go without breaking the bank and this fits the bill perfectly! Very happy with this purchase.

Probably the best paper I’ve used for watercolor. It holds up after many layers. I will buy this again.
