Where has this been my whole mothering life??? Ive been putting down diapers or towels in the car seats and praying that they didnt wet themselves on the way to school or home... and then I discovered the PIDDLE PAD! No more worries! I cant tell you how many times Ive had to hose down our car seat and wash the covers... this thing is a godsend! Per other recommendations, I did wash it first in hopes that it would help with absorbency - so far, so good!

Given the mixed reviews, I decided to test this before using. When I took this out of the package, I sprinkled a few drops of water on it... and sure enough they beaded up and rolled right off. This didnt surprise me - I always wash towels at least once before using or they dont absorb anything. So, I washed this according to the instructions and it seemed significantly more absorbent after washing. It has not been tested by a toddler pee incident yet... but I bet it will perform better having been washed. The overall design is great and it fits my two very different car seats equally well. I will circle back once the true test has been passed (or failed).... UPDATE: I washed this a second time because of squashed Cheerios and sundry other sticky spots, and then we finally had a full-on pee accident. This worked GREAT! It held all the liquid with literally about 2 drops making it onto the car seat cover. We stopped pretty much right away and changed clothes, etc. - I was impressed by how much this absorbed. I will not leave home without it!!

If my daughter did a small accident, this worked great. I wouldnt have to wash the entire seat cover. But if she just let everything that she had been holding in for hours go in her seat, this pad didnt save much at all. The accident still soaked through and the seat cover needed to be washed. Keep in mind, I have only dealt with number 1 accidents, my little one hasnt done a number 2 with this yet so I cannot attest to it strength on that end.

Works well enough to catch most of the leaks from potty training accidents. We did have leaks around the open part where the buckle comes through, as that hole is pretty big. And like others have said, it does slide around quite a bit when my kid goes to climb in her seat. But I get that there are likely limitations due to safety. Overall, for the price, its helpful enough and makes it easier to clean up accidents.

Our son rarely have accidents on his stroller or car seat but he got sick the first week after we enrolled him into daycare and this happened to be installed on his stroller when he caught the bug. Luckily, the leakage (from his diarrhea) didnt seep through. This piddle pad saved us a weeks worth of headaches. Handwashing it was fairly easy and it dried up suprisingly quick (overnight) despite its thickness compared to other brands. We have another piddle pad that we installed on his car seat and it is lighter thinner than this one. However, this one is becoming our favorite because it doesnt shift as much when installed.

My 2-year-old daughter has put this to the test three times now and it saved me every time! I just whip it off, throw it in the wash and its good to go by the next day. I took off one star because I really feel like the part at the front should be a little bigger and taller (the part that goes in between her legs/up the back of the buckle.) Thats the only place where some of the pee has managed to leak out. But still -- I only had to dab off the buckle piece, which was MUCH easier than having to strip the whole seat cover for cleaning. Awesome price here on Amazon too, compared with in stores.

I have two little ones. My youngest is still in [cloth] diapers and occasionally there is some leakage on road trips or long days when it is hot or warm out and weve had a lot to drink. This item superbly protected the car sear. If youve ever had to remove a car seat cover from the actual seat for washing every single time there was a food/beverage stain or potty accident (that absolutely stinks to high heaven once dry) then you know what a pain that is. Spend the coins and save yourself that fight, this slips on over the latch and comes right out for washing, meanwhile protecting the seat cover from nasty stains (should you want to sell or donate it later). I definitely recommend it

This is a great product. My son outgrew the car seat insert but still needed something to protect the seat in case of blowouts. This pad fit my baby trend car seat perfectly and has worked great at containing any messes. My only issue is that, since its black, you cant see if there is a mess in the car seat and have to feel for it, which isnt the most pleasant thing to do. Overall, I would totally recommend this product and have already purchased a second as a back up pad for our diaper bag.

This is a must-have for potty training kids. It absorbs well and protects the car seat from accidents. Its so much easier to wash this item than to take a car seat apart for cleaning.

i am convinced that products such as this one and the stupid shopping cart cover are designed specifically to separate sleep-deprived parents from their money. when you think about it rationally, you realize that your child wont like sitting in a pool of his own pee even if he doesnt vehemently object to this thing being inserted into his carseat. you will also likely realize that due to the peculiar way in which physics and gravity work, this thing cant possibly function in a way that captures all of the liquid released onto it, so now you have two things to clean instead of one. finally, you will recall that they make these things called diapers and even make them in the shape of pull-ups, and that if your child may have an issue on car rides, it is far easier to put one of those on him than it is to try to collect the fluid once it leaks out of him. all of these are perfectly good reasons never to buy this product. however, when you see this thing at 2am when your potty-training kid gets up for the 11th time because he thinks its fun to go pee-pee at night, even if oops, nothing came out <shrug> is the result, you see this thing as some sort of transcendent invention that you cannot live without... and the rest is history. so, benefit from my mistakes, rather than making your own. skip this one. and the shopping cart cover. dont get me started on the shopping cart cover!
