Since this light is so well reviewed and detailed online and in other reviews I will focus on the questions I had prior to purchase but couldnt find answers and some of my experiences with the light that I didnt see elsewhere. 1. Is 15 Lumens too low for regular use considering high is 360? - No, 15 lumens is great for average use. I have no issues with the low level being too low for my needs. 2. Battery life an issue considering the high lumens? – I used the light on a week-long camping trip and primarily used the low setting but frequently used high for very short periods. The batteries are still solid. I bought a back-up set of batteries just in case, but haven’t needed them yet. Some of the things I noticed about the light that I haven’t seen elsewhere: The tail cap switch/button is not as positive as I would expect from Surefire. This was especially true when I was just using the push and hold for momentary light. I played with the spring under the cap a bit and it really improved the issue but it’s still not ideal. Often I end up with the high beam when I dont want it which can blind me when being used close up. The nitrolon body feels like aluminum. I was expecting a rubbery feel based on the description but the body is actually very hard and looks very much like the aluminum head. A nice surprise and alleviates any concerns I had about its future durability. My light has a very small piece of plastic or rubber sticking out of the gap between the head and body. I assume this is some sort of gasket that was displaced when the head was attached to the body. It’s barely noticeable and doesn’t seem to affect performance but clearly is not supposed to be that way and is probably a manufacturing defect. The retail packaging is a real pain to open. I know it helps prevent theft at point of sale and protects the product but I had to work way to hard to get the light out of the packaging. I am really pleased with the light and don’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

After owning the SureFire G2X for several years, it continues to provide rock solid dependable performance. Although the continuing evolution of LED technology now offers us higher lumens in a comparable sized package, the G2X is still one of my go-to lights. Lightweight, bright enough, and seemingly indestructible, this light is highly recommended!

Ive always wanted a SureFire flashlight, but most of their products are way to expensive. Enter the G2X PRO. It is a budget offering of theirs and honestly it is fantastic. I highly recommend it for those needing a reliable light, but are on a fixed income.

    Greater than one week

This Surefire delivers as promised. Its locking tail cap works for both 15 and 320 lumens in addition to pressing the tail cap switch for momentary-on in high or low. The Surefire G2X Pro Dual Output LED Flashlight has a polymer body over an aluminum frame. This construction exists on 6 different Surefire lights I own. I have experienced NO issues in construction what so ever. Three of my 6, now 7 Surefires have seen hard use. This model in particular is a gem in both design and price. 15 lumens is perfect for making your way around a dark room and 320 lumens delivers a blinding beam of clarity. It also reaches goal post to goal post as I have just checked it at the local football field. This model is the best light for the money I have seen to date.

Dependable, but the switching from low to high is not to my liking.

Pros: Flashlight is nice and bright on the high setting and not bad on the low setting if you are somewhere dark. I used mine at work to get a better look inside the equipment when doing maintenance so I usually used the high setting. Cons: Drains batteries super fast on high setting. Even the supposedly superior batteries they sell you didnt really last much longer than the cheap rayovacs I got at work. Not as durable as they claim, I had the flashlight for about 6 months now and its broken. I bought it to be my work light because it was advertised as being bright and durable, however I fumbled it from about shoulder height last week onto the floor and now the tail cap is broken. I cant turn it off or adjust the functions, so its basically useless to me now. This thing runs HOT, especially after several hours of use. I know they warn you about it with a fancy label, but I wasnt expecting to be able to cook an egg off my flashlight. Might not be an issue for some since you have to use it continuously on the high setting for about 30 minutes or so till it heats up, but I work with a lot of very flammable petrolium products some of which are basically gasoline. Other thoughts: The flashlight I had before I bought this one was a cheap little Coleman that I got for $15. I had it for 2 years and abused it far far worse and it still worked great up until the day I lost it. There are definitely better flashlights out there for way less.

To be honest, you can find a $20 counterfeit flashlight that is brighter that this, but I guarantee you itll let you down the moment you need it the most. This flashlight is perfectly designed and implemented and you will feel the quality the first time you hold it. I wish it had zoom capability but I realized that the beam is carefully designed for optimum coverage.

This is my second sure fire flashlight, and its feature are very different from the first. It will take some getting used to. The two way power level is a great way to preserve battery life. I miss the belt clip, as this one can not be clipped onto ones belt. So you need to keep it in your hand or put it in your pocket(or pocketbook?). Just remember that you need lithium batteries for this flashlight. It is as well built as my other sure fire product, so I expect it to last a long time.

I now have three and at $50 each that may sound like a bit of money for flashlights. An LED Mag light will cost over $30 and many of those multi-bulb led flashlights will cost $20 and up. And this light is so much brighter than any of the former. In the low output level it still lights up a dark room and so far, almost 3 months since I purchased the first one, I have not had to change batteries. Im sure I will be buying a couple more of these as the few remaining cheapie LEDs die off.

Surefire has the best LED flashlights out there. This is my 3rd flashlight. I have one for the car (G2 Nitrolon , replaced the bulb with a Cree LED, now its super bright and useful), I have one as a personal protection light that I carry with me (E2 Defender) and now this one for taking the dog out at night. The construction on these flashlights are superb in quality. This one in particular and my old Nitrolon are water-proof. I love these lights. They are a little on the expensive side, but I need a flashlight that will work whenever I need them. Surefire has never failed me.
