> 3 dayI love this flashlight. Good balance. It fits in the hand very comfortably. Uses 2 CR123 Li Ion batteries. This kind of batteries have good shelf life. The chance of leaking is much lower than regular alkaline batteries. They have more power than AA batteries. I bought a few of them to put around the house and in cars. The dual output is very handy. I have never tested the durability by dropping or throwing it across the room intensionally. I also want a few flashlights for emergency use that whenever I pick them up, they will work. But SureFire has this reputation that they want to maintain and I choose to trust it. When the time comes I will see.

> 3 dayThe brightness, range and clean, focused light from this small flashlight is unbelievable. I use mine in my shop when inspecting under the hood and under the chassis of cars and its remarkable; the flashlight is small and easy to handle and gives super clean bright light to illuminate the darkest of hard-to-get to places. This flashlight is not only excellent for up-close work, it also throws a clean, tight field of light at least 100 feet. I like these so much I bought a second one to use in the house. Do yourself a favor and purchase a box of the Surefire SF12-BB Box of 12 123A 3 Volt Lithium Batteries SF123A batteries at the same time you buy the flashlight.

21-11-2024SureFire is a sure bet. I bought my first one before my deployment to Iraq. Served me great there and has been my go-to flashlight for 13 years. Needed a new one, so bought this one. Expect nothing less.

> 3 dayI am writing this review 3 years after purchasing my first G2X. Ive worked on and off as a delivery driver since 2014, this flashlight was with me every night, and has been used daily, sometimes for close to an hour at a time. It gets hot with lengthy use, but thats not unexpected. The beam is focused, very bright, and goes a good distance. I have since bought 3 other G2X lights, and numerous other Surefire products. Surefire have great customer service, and stand behind their products. The batteries are the worst part, they are pricey, and can be burned up fairly quickly, but this light is worth it.

> 3 dayGood bright flashlight, not a fan of the two sages of brightness and also how you have to get to the two stages. Other than that, easy 4 stars for price and what you get.

> 3 dayI bought this to go with an older, incandescent Surefire 6P tactical light and Im very happy with my purchase. The G2X Pro Dual Output light features 2 power levels, low & high. On the low setting its plenty bright for locating things in a dark house, garage or finding a dropped bolt under the hood of your car. But on the bright setting it will wash out even the Surefire 6P Xenon bulb. The 6Ps Xenon bulb is very bright and will wash out the brightest of Maglites beams by way of comparison. The G2X will light up things over 100 yards away quite nicely. Switching from low-to-high is easy. Push the tailcap button and you get the low power beam. Release and reactivate within 2 seconds and you get the bright high-power beam. If you push the button hard it will turn on the light in its current mode until you push the button again so you dont have to continuously push on the tailcap button. This isnt a cheap light and it shows in the construction. The body is a Nitrolon polymer thats not as cold to grab as aluminum and nicely contoured for a good grip. The head is machined aluminum with 6 flats to prevent it from rolling easily. The push button on the tailcap is rugged and sealed. The beam is pre-focused so unlike Maglights you cant switch from spot to flood style. But there is plenty of light output. Cons: Uses 2 CR123A lithium batteries which can be expensive. But you can buy a dozen for between $18-$20 via Amazon at the same time (recommended). Because of the high output capabilities, battery run times can be very short (read the descriptions). These are intended for short, periodic uses (i.e. police tactical flashlights, search & rescue, etc.) and the head/lens area can get too hot to touch if left on for extended periods. Mine is in basic black which is hard to find in the dark. For emergency kits Id suggest either the Yellow version or the Orange Fire-Rescue version as they are easier to see in low light.

> 3 dayFeels very solid, sturdy. Good tactile response for on/off switch. Partial-Pressure switch is a little finicky, but Ive only had this light for 1 day, so I think its just something Im doing inconsistently when I apply pressure. The 1 thing I dont really like is the low-to-high brightness switch setup. I understand that this is a $60 light, and I think for the price and warranty alone, it is an incredible value... That being said I wish there were a feature to allow variations on the high/low setting. I dont think this would make a proper tactical weapon light because of this. Having to scroll through low, off, high by pushing the switch 3 times seems like a liability to me. Other than that, this light is freakin awesome and I would definitely recommend it for multipurpose use for almost anything.

> 3 dayThis is my second Surefire flashlight. Ive owned several other decent LED lights (Olight, Fenix, etc), and this is by far my favorite brand. Its simple, and it works. My only gripe is that I am unable to use the rechargeable 18650 batteries like in other lights. The body of the light is not shaped wide enough to fit the slightly wider batteries. But, I have a decent supply of cr123a so that helps. I do like the fact that at first press of the tailcap switch, I am on low beam mode. Second tap gives me the higher output. For awhile I walked a lot at night (fitness) and this gave me the chance to see what was in front of me without the blinding light, unless I needed it. The spill is good - not too focused and not too wide. Overall a good light worth the money. Simple, easy to use, reliable, and so far pretty efficient.

> 3 dayIm a firefighter and I have it mounted my helmet. Its very bright on high setting. Low setting works great for close up work as well.

Greater than one weekAs I own 3 of these, for the money it is well worth the investment. Dad saw mine and liked it bigtime. Pros: simi-soft no slip grip, super bright light, and light weight for a tac box or backpack. Cons: knowing how to click the button to change the brightness of the light took some getting use to for Dad. Bottom line: worth the price and the quality is that of which one would expect from Surefire.
