> 3 dayI bought this as a backup to my 3 cell LED maglite, but has rapidly become my favorite for regular use. Its durable, and although its not as bright as some, its got a great throw, and its still super bright and will easily light up literally anything on high mode. I originally disliked the fact that low mode was first, and I had to double press the rear button to put it on high mode, but honestly its great now. If I need it to say, check an ID, its nice not to immediately blind myself, my partner, the person whos ID Im reading, and everyone in a 1 mile radius... If I need to do that, I have the ability to. When I eventually lose it, Im definitely going to buy another one. My only issue with it is that it doesnt come with a pocket clip. You can easily get one for it though, I use the Thyrm low profile carry clip.

> 3 dayI like this model more than the more expensive metal version. The polymer construction is tough. The dual brightness mode is essential, you dont always need max brightness, and the high-brightness eats batteries. It defaults to the dim mode when battery voltage is low.

06-06-2025Good all around light. It being surefire it is pretty much indestructible, my only complaint is surefire used to make good lights with long run times now all they have are high output with low battery life. This has like is says 2 hrs on high and it’s pretty accurate so be aware of that.

> 3 dayWorks great! I like the low and high beam and how it works. High beam is very bright! Great size. I keep it in my bedside table. I could use a couple more actually. My son uses it at work and recommended it. He had given me a smaller one that I carried in my purse. Just sick about losing it.

> 3 dayIn an ongoing search for the perfect flashlight, this is my latest favorite. Ive carried a SureFire E2D for years but this one is even brighter, has a better beam pattern for night hiking and costs about 1/3 the price of the E2D. Ive only had this light for a few weeks but based on my experience with other SureFire products I think it will last a long time. BTW: Blade-Tech makes a good Kydex belt holster designed for the G2 that also fits this light very well.

02-06-2025This is my favorite flashlight for a primary light while working. Its about damn time a company made a light that STARTS on the low beam and adjusts up. This thing is always on me and I own a LOT of flashlights including other Surefire lights.

05-06-2025Everyone in my family has a SureFire. We got this one for my dad for Christmas and he loves it, never leaves home without it! The low level is great for seeing in your general area and the bright allows us to scan the edge of the yard and woods about 300 ft away - exactly what we needed. I use my bright 2-3 times per day and a set of batteries usually last me 4-7 months, longer for my husband. Not to mention this little flashlight could be used as a self defense tool if needed - very sturdy construction while feeling perfectly balanced in your hand! Ive had mine 5 years and its still going strong!

Greater than one weekMy husband and daughter have rod cone dystrophy so night time vision is extremely slim for them. We have purchased several of these G2X for having in purses and backpacks for easy to grab use for them. The flashlights are great, have held up wonderfully being thrown in all sorts of bags. Always ready when we need them, bright and helpful. I like them for at night when I hear noises way out at the barn, all other flashlights spread and disappear long before reaching the barn, these find the critter making the racket and help me run it off without leaving the deck.
