> 3 dayPretty happy with this AP, my old Engenious one died and I looked for a replacement. After installing and configuring this one, my mobile device connects faster at my office now, and I get a little stronger signal even through multiple walls when I go to talk with other businesses in my building.

> 3 dayIve been dealing with a guest wireless VLAN where the broadcast packets from UNTAGGED or the default VLAN on other VLANs. You cant connect inbetween VLANs so that works as expected, but if this were to be deployed in a setting where computer security and information was important, youd fail most tests. Ive been back and forth with their support about the firmware. I love the thing otherwise. I like not having to have a controller software to setup and manage my APs, I also like the range (it got slightly better range than a UAP-AC-LR-US in my testing). Its definently cheaper than the Ubiquiti equivalient (UBNT tax). The only place I can find these suitable for are single VLAN situations or situations where you have a smart switch you can tag packets a certain way (but only if you beg their support for a test firmware). If I could return them and buy a related UBNT product, I would, simply because at the moment they dont work the way they should in regards to VLANs and security methods. However, I got what I paid for. Edit: Updated this to four stars because they fixed the problems with VLANs in the firmware. They also made the new firmware have a tab specifically for defining which vlan each ssid sits on. Theyve made improvements in the wireless client monitor section of the firmware so that it now shows IP and Hostname from clients. If I could turn off the broadcast seeking out a controller software (that I dont want), Id make it five stars. Ive not checked to see if this search for a controller happens across all SSIDs yet or not, but will and will report back. Despite the many reviews saying support isnt helpful, Im going to vouch for support. There is a communication difficulty between people with different levels of english, but they were helpful. After I demonstrated the issue with pictures and sample configurations, they even sent me beta firmware to test to see if it continued to be a problem. You try getting support of this level out of somewhere else. I bet you money you wont find it.

> 3 dayRange and stability are great, but it did take some configuration to get right. Overall, this gets a solid recommendation for extending your wifi signal.

> 3 dayI wasted hours trying to figure out how to connect this darn thing. It lit up just fine with the PoE and I could see the WiFi signal, but just could not connect. Eventually after trying resets, using the PoE adapter, etc I found that the Cat 6 cable may be not quite compatible. It was odd since the network connects just fine through the cable and their was enough power to start the WAP and get a good signal... eventually I swapped out the cat 6 and it appears to be working fine.

Greater than one weekI bought this item to extend my wifi into my garages. I ran a CAT6 cable from my POE switch and in minutes I hade a great signal in my detached RV garage approximately 100 and 4 brick walls from my wifi router - it was hit/miss on getting ANY signal there before

Greater than one weekI bought it to replace an old 11n AP from Netgear. The problem is it didnt work with the original 802.3af standard PoE. I didnt want to use the cheap looking passive poe injector comes with the AP, because I know standard POE gives better protection. It took me long time to figure out this cheap AP only support so-called End-span PSE. According to 802.3af standard, a PD (powered device) must support both mid-span and end-span. This AP declares it is 802.3af standard PD but it is NOT. I had to buy a 5 port PoE switch to use this AP. The 2nd issue is the coverage. The 5Ghz coverage is a disaster. Connection drops and reconnects to 2.4Ghz radio just right after a thin wall, and that is within 10 meters range.... To me, Tplink is still far from commercial-use AP.

> 3 dayI been using this for a couple days. It was easy setup and it works great? fixed all my Wi-Fi problems. Download the controller app for your phone that’s all you need for great WiFi networking. I turned the radio off in my wireless router. Don’t need it any longer.

> 3 dayThis little device has the same features as models 3x the price including facebook guest / SMS login. Between my wife, kid, and myself theres about 20 wireless devices hanging around taking a signal at any given time. And with a bunch of them still needing older standards to connect this is the perfect solution. It can handle every band simultaneously and automatically opts for the best speed and security it can connect with to your device. From 50 feet Ive been able to get copy speeds up to 400 Mbps over 802.11ac and it does measure the connection at 867Mbps so at closer range it might get even better speeds. There is an issue with rebooting if you dont turn down the tx power. Both 5Ghz and 2.4 GHz have their settings maxed. I turned my 5 GHz down to 20 (basically full power) and 2.4 down to 12 (half power) and havent had any issues since. Long distance too. My unit is inside by a window and I get a functioning signal 500 feet away. Great value all around.
