08-06-2025This product should have been great. It wasnt. Priced lower than UBNT equipment, similar footprint, POE connection, sounds great, until you try to get it working. Plugged it in to POE, started it up, and then keyed for the configuration webpage. And waited. And waited. And waited. After finally getting to the sign on webpage, then waited some more. Then went through the wizard. And waited more. This was getting silly, so we reset the unit using the reset button, and then tried to reconfigure again. The result was faster this time! Hooray! After a couple of false starts, finally got the firmware updated. And then configured, and even got a wi-fi device to connect to it. And then it stopped communicating. The SSID was there, but the communication wasnt. And then see what we can do with getting to the configuration webpage, and back to the same old same old. Thankfully, the amazons were kind enough to let me return it. Caveat Emptor, folks.

Greater than one weekWorks great. Only concern was I needed to download the TP-Link Omada App to rename the access point name and password. The browser method in the instructions did not work. Great performance for the price

> 3 dayI have purchased 9 of the old version of this, and 3 of the new version. Old version - Excellent! except it kept dropping the time settings (fixed by setting NTP server). I thought the new ones would have fixed the NTP problem (which they did) but all three are now dead. First one worked fine until today. Second one fried on arrival - so I thought I did something wrong. Bought a replacement for the second one - that fried too. Replace the second one with the old version - works fine. Today, the first one was unplugged, and then plugged back in. Magic smoke comes rushing out. Now I have three of these, and they are all bricked. EAP225 V3 no good. I dont usually review but these are a special case.

> 3 dayI wasted hours trying to figure out how to connect this darn thing. It lit up just fine with the PoE and I could see the WiFi signal, but just could not connect. Eventually after trying resets, using the PoE adapter, etc I found that the Cat 6 cable may be not quite compatible. It was odd since the network connects just fine through the cable and their was enough power to start the WAP and get a good signal... eventually I swapped out the cat 6 and it appears to be working fine.

> 3 dayTested line of site and I still had a good signal at 180. Installed in a large open room and had coverage through the walls at either end of the building as well.
