> 24 hourWorks as well as my cisco 3502I simpler too..... ok maybe a little more limited by a menu setup but if your not a CCNA and you dont have a really specific configs or a VPN then this is the way to go for off site support. Allow managing all your ubiquiti hardware. I power mine with my old samsung S2 Cell phone charger but you should purchase a $15 POE injector.. Its working great. 2 month in

> 24 hourBuyer beware! Ubiquiti only offers their manufacturer warranty only on items bought from its own store or authorized distributers/resellers. Many of the sellers here are not authorized, and thus you will not be able to submit for RMA under an active warranty. Now on to the review of the product: Dont Buy! This product has been superseded by the new CloudKey G2 and CloudKey G2 Plus. These new devices have built-in batteries that allow the CloudKey time to gracefully shut itself down when it loses power. This prevents the problem with this product where when a power-loss occurs, the primary database holding all of the configuration data typically becomes corrupted. In my case, the devices database became corrupted a few times, which was typically solvable with a factory reset and loading of the most recent backup from the memory card. This past week the database became corrupted again after a power loss and a factory reset didnt fix it and it began refusing to boot. I tried a re-flash of the firmware and have not been able to resolve the issue. When I tried to contact Ubiquiti, I found out that most Amazon sellers are not authorized, and thus no warranty will come with the products you buy from them. Learned my lesson, I have replaced with a CloudKey G2 ordered from the Ubiquiti store. Hope this review helps someone else avoid the mentioned issues!

> 24 hourIf you are running UniFi equipment by Ubiquiti this is a must unless you are willing to dedicate a machine for the controller. This little unit is very small, easy to power via POE or if that is not available, very easy to power by just about any cell phone adapter. In general Ubiquiti equipment is very robust and with alot of enterprise features for security, management, etc. although one of disadvantages other than good documentation and files as well as forums, the support is less than great. Granted, you cant expect enterprise quality support with products that cost 1/4 of similar enterprise quality items. The Access points are great although one thing to be kept in mind is that many models are 24 volt which are not standard POE standard, easily achievable by using included or inexpensive POE injectors that can be purchased. I highly recommend adding a Ubiquity POE switch which can also be managed by controller or cloud key for voltage and many other advanced settings. Enabling cloud feature is very easy although finding out how to connect requires going to forums or reading documentation PDF files carefully.

> 24 hourTried this so I wouldnt need to run the unifi controller on my pc, but it was a nightmare from the start. Kept crashing, losing config, and not responding. Updating firmware didnt help. Will be installing the FREE software on a Raspberry Pi instead, cheaper and more reliable. And the Pi can do multiple things at once, unlike this overpriced key. Love ubiquity gear, but not this.

> 24 hourGreat addition to your Unifi setup. Works great, easy to setup and eliminates the need to have a computer running a controller.

> 24 hourSave yourself the hours and hours of restoring your system and buy the Gen2. This has no battery back up or graceful shut down capability and power losses basically guarantee corrupt database issues on this puppy. I lost 12 hours today rebuilding an entire install and this thing is now sitting in a drawer while I wait for the Gen2 to arrive. No point to even steeing this thing back up. Huge let down compared to 90% of the other products they make.

> 24 hourFantastic product - very simple to use and access! I cant say enough good things about the vendor, Hovercraft Lab -- not only did they follow up on the purchase, they sent instructions and tips and tricks on several occasions. Thanks team!
