> 3 dayDont leave your Unifi access points up to being managed via the software. The software requires a separate PC, recommended to be on the same subnet, and you have to access to the internal LAN to access it. This cloudkey will allow you to access the WiFi manager from anywhere, and is so much easier to use.

Greater than one weekMakes management of access points easy and painless, yet powerful and lots of configuration flexibility.

> 3 dayThe Ubiquiti Cloud Key is a GREAT idea, however it is TERRIBLY unstable. Any power loss or reboot will cause the Key (Linux Embedded System) to go corrupt. The forums and support have been screaming about the issues but UBNT has not yet corrected the issue, and if you require support you cannot even talk to someone regardless of when you purchased the device unless you have Elite Support. The product platform could be GREAT, but alas the support is absolutely TERRIBLE and as such cannot recommend the product unless you intend to RESET your key and restore from backups on a frequent basis.

> 3 dayThe Cloud Key works great... when it works. Had mine about 8 months and then it died. Took me a while to diagnosis the issues and now it is out of warranty by 6 days and I cannot get an exchange. Bummer :(

> 3 dayYou dont have to leave a PC on 24x7 running the ubiquity controller but if you do and like me it was averaging 200w per hour, thats 4.8kw per day and at around $0.15 per kw including transmission charges etc.. thats $262 per year. My switch tells me that the cloud key over POE is using 2.69w which equates to $3.54 a year... In my case this device will save me at least double its cost in the first year, assuming I never have to turn that PC back on. Migrating the configuration from a PC and re-attaching the Unifi devices from a PC to the cloud key not particularly straight forward and it took a couple of hours but well worth it.

> 3 dayI had problems setting up my UniFi network using this product along with the USG, 16 port switch, and 2 APs. The discovery tool seemed to only find the cloud key half the time. Once the cloud key is adopted, the discovery tool never finds it. I had to guess the IP address to be able to login and configure my network. Im not a network engineer...Im merely just a home user that wanted a much more reliable home network. Your experience my differ if you have much better networking experience.
