> 3 dayI use this in the car when I can’t take my carry pistol in somewhere. It fits in my glove box and is secured by the cable to a metal part in the car. Yes, they can cut the cable with a good pair of cutters. But this is about deterrence not about absolute security.

> 3 daylightweight, there are some slight delays in getting into this box versus my larger ProVTi (uses biometric fingerprint), but it beats carrying around the larger heavier box. There is some space limitation inside the box for items that have attachments like grips and or lights that have been added. Though, I Iike that I can have it anywhere in the downstairs laying about and no worry of a child investigating the item. With the two side buckles I would expect most small children to not have the strength to open the buckles. The delay is the the power button must be pushed first then the code entered and then both buckles opened. With some practice this can be lessoned. With both pieces of egg crate installed (provided) the item does not move around and also add to the pressure of the buckles. There is more room inside the box for additional clips, etc. The code programming and installation of your provided 9v battery take less than 5 minutes. The instructions out of the box are straight forward.

> 3 dayEverything I expected. Use it for travel and it’s very portable and easy to carry. Fits in all of my bags and depending on what I put in it it’s light enough for hiking.

> 3 dayPerfect to keep your subcompact/compact pistol away from your kids and for car storage when I cannot carry into a certain building. I wanted something that had a digital lock for faster access than something like a masterlock when it’s in the bedroom. Got the special edition cuz I love the olive drab color and I wanted the 4’ cable(which is thinner than I thought, but that’s okay) I have a super nice hiding spot in my car for it. I carry while driving normally so I don’t need fast access in my car. This could fit a compact but you can tell it’s meant for a subcompact. If I take out the fancy foam I can fit my shield with my extended 10rd mag along with an 8 AND 7 round mag (26 rounds of 9!) and a mag holder WITH my holster which is nice how I can throw my whole rig in there! Built well! The Manual key can unlock but not lock which is strange but not a dealbreaker. Don’t let these people that say it’s cheap plastic fool you. It’s a travel safe anyhow. Vaultek is quality.

Greater than one weekBonus points if anyone gets the headline reference. Jokes aside this portable safe is awesome! Its the perfect size to secure, contain and protect my S&W M&P 9MM SHIELD PLUS as well as a couple extra mags. I also really like the optional strap that comes with it, I found it very useful as an attachment point to clip on my hearing protection ear plug holder. Registered it with the manufacturer on their website which was very simple and easy, they just needed the ID material off the safe itself and the Amazon order ID number. Unlocking this with the keypad is very satisfying, especially with the little lock popping sound when you enter your code.

> 3 dayThis is not a safe, its a theft deterrent device. If someone steals this they will get whats in it. If you set your expectations correctly you will like this. If this will be your only gun safe, or need something to keep your priceless grandmas jewelry from burglars, this isnt it. Can it deter a smash and grab? Probably so if they are not well equipped . Its well made, even though its a thick composite plastic it feels solid and would not be immediately breached. It would be perfect to secure a firearm in a car, out of sight or secure valuables in a hotel room. Its waterproof so it would be great to store electronic and documents in wet environments. Would be great to keep kids out of things that could harm them such as firearms, medicines , keys to better safes and doors etc.

> 3 dayFits an HK USP 9mm full size (4.25 barrel). Given that this barely fits, it wont fit with a tactical (threaded) barrel. Definitely rules out a slide mounted red dot (not that I care for this particular pistol). I have a TLR-1 HL that wont fit in this case when its attached on the rail, but its not a deal breaker. Looks like Ill be getting a TLR-8 in the near future to solve this. I knew what I was getting into with this purchase. My primary goal is safety around children, and preventing smash and grabs. I know it is not super secure, but I am never far from where this. Its definitely a major upgrade from the factory carrying case. I do wish it was plastic moulded around a metal frame, with four locking bolts, but it would also be heavier and more expensive than I would like.
