> 3 dayI would highly recommend the Vornado fan. I have had one for several years and I needed another one for my living room. The model 660 is so quiet and circulates air so well. Please don’t hesitate, you’ll be satisfied.

> 3 dayI have a 300sqft studio and it gets stagnant. So I needed room circulation for general, coolness at night, and appropriate noise levels for both. Levels 1&2 are good for air circulation with VERY low noise level so I can keep it going and not have to yell to talk to someone. At 3 it does kinda start making sound but still pretty good. 4 or high blows well and produces enough background noise to drown out a lot most sounds at night as I sleep. Very happy with this purchase!

> 3 dayMine did not come with a remote control, but the overall fan is great practically noiseless. I just wish it oscillates.

Greater than one weekVornado had been my first choice in fans for nearly two decades. They’re nice looking, quality construction, quiet, and they sure move a lot of air for their size. Every Vornado fan I’ve ever bought in the last 20-ish years is still working perfectly. This particular fan is a really quiet one and pages a lot of air. It handles a pretty big space, about 20x24 feet. The old (non-Vornado) fan I replaced was set up in an Alexa plug so I could just tell Alexa to turn it on. This fan has electronic switches for on/off and up: down speed, so doesn’t work with an Alexa switch.

> 3 dayPowerful! I have 3 other models. Great for cooling an entire room. Turn on switch in a strange place, but doesn’t take away from the fans power.

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic fan and I recommend this purchase. I live in a hot and humid climate with exceptionally expensive electric rates, so I tend to rely on fans more than air conditioning. I have gone through seven fans in the past two years, all name brand. I purchased two off-brand metal bladed fans a year ago and those are great except they are very loud and are dangerous with small curious children in the house. This led me to Vornado. Here are my points to consider: Pros: Reasonably quiet, even at the highest setting. REALLY moves air. My living room is 22 across and it has no trouble directing air that far. Size--this is a very small fan in comparison to the other fans Ive owned (box, pedestal, floor, table), yet it does a better job. Appearance--looks pretty, and isnt an eyesore like other fans Safety--my 1.5-year old has failed in her attempts to shove her fingers through the grill. Im sure she could if she tried harder, but it wouldnt be easy. Efficiency--Ive been without power for two months now (thanks, typhoon) and rely on a power inverter. With this plugged in, it uses 50w at the highest setting. Thats compared to my pedestal fan that uses 75w at the lowest setting. Cons: Price--this is not cheap! I purchased this repackaged from Amazon and it saved me $15 from anywhere else I could find online. Buttons--I think the shiny buttons are meant to attract small children, and it does that very well. Though, I dont know where else the buttons could be and still be convenient for adults to adjust. Unless it was a classic dial adjustment. Speed settings--level 3 and 4 are really the only speeds Ive used and I cant imagine using anything less...the lower two levels just seem a little useless. But maybe if I didnt live in the tropics, the lower settings might be useful for a whisper of air movement here or there. Lastly, I wanted to address a couple of things I read in reviews. First, this fan CAN be used to direct air at you, as you would a normal fan. It does a very good job at that, in fact. Its just not maximizing the fans potential as a whole room air circulator if you choose to aim it at yourself for cooling. Secondly, this fan is not hard at all to adjust. Im not sure what people are attempting to do in terms of angle adjustment, but you simply slide it and its done. And no--it does not slide out of position on its own. Im not kidding, its very simple and effective. I chose the 660 versus other models based on reviews citing efficiency, and also because it looks nicer than similar models. I am happy with this purchase, its better than I expected it to be, and Ill be buying two more for the rest of my house...as my budget allows.

> 3 dayUpdate: 07/09/2020 This 660 has become my sleeping fan, whether I use the A/C in the room or not. On really hot and humid days, I turn on the A/C and this fan helps circulate the cool. On other days, I just have the fan on lowest and pointed at the ceiling to be bathed with a gentle breeze. Sometimes I turn it a notch higher. The trick is to point at ceiling so the breeze cascades down. Wonderful. As some mentioned, it is made with some thin plastic parts so dont toss it around. I broke the cover attachment stays of one by tossing it into the trunk of the car. This new design is not as robust. Update: 05/28/2017 The 660 I had bought for my friend was damaged, I was going to repair it for her. I called Vornado for a part and they sent a new fan instead--I had to cut up the cord of the old one and send a picture with serial number. Impressive. I still like my 660, but I just bought another Vornado fan that I like even better--the #293 heavy duty utility fan--it is much more robust, with stronger air flow--although only 3 speed, and low is pretty quiet. Even has a handle; a bit larger and heavier. It has the old design which I actually prefer; grill comes off easily with snaps. Now I have 5 Vornado fans, including my Zippi. Update: 8/3/2016 I had recommended this fan to my friend and reviewed it earlier, below. Now I just bought one for myself. What a breeze, definitely circulates air in the whole room. Wont be using the A/C as much, thats for sure. Although it is loud on highest setting, but what a breeze. I just said that twice--and thats what it is--breezy. Still using my old 183 (530) which is running like when new, these 20+ years, but figured I should get something stronger.. Now I have 4 Vornado products. >>> Recommended and bought it on behalf of a friend, who was initially reluctant to spend so much for a fan--she got the 530, liked it, but it was too loud on high, so I suggested this one. After receiving and using this, she was very, very pleased, and asked me why I had not recommend this one in the first instance (instead of the the 530)--I said--it was because I was not sure she wanted to spend so much money for a fan, being that she was frugal. :-) I had a older model 530 (a 183) that I have used for close to 20 years--still like new. I lost the rubber feet on the base and Vornado sent them to me--impressed the heck out of me. I also have a Vornado whole room heater and just bought a Vornado Zippi fan.

> 3 dayI have a fan in every room of my house from this brand. Vornados are the best! This one has several levels of air speed. I keep it on medium and its not loud. Its also adjustable tilting it up and down. Works wonderful!

> 3 dayThis fan really circulates air well. I generally just have it facing ceiling - and I can feel a real difference. I’m in Vermont where it doesn’t get terribly hot for long periods. I use it with the heat on and seems to help my lungs get air. It came ready to use. Only had a few months so I hope it works a long time. Also bought a cheaper similar fan for a bathroom that did nothing so i’m now a Vornado fan. If it stops working I will update.

> 3 dayPros are that it is a great air circulator and its just the right size to be felt but not be in the way. Cons are that the head is attached to a price of metal that wont let it be aimed too low nor go side to side. If youre just leaving on table or floor u can move the whole thing but I wanted to attach to the wall.
