Cools so much better than other fans!

In my room ( the man cave) I have a custom build PC, PS3, XBOX 360, and a 40 Samsung TV. Now as you can imagine, all these things turning on together and staying on tend to build up quite a bit of heat, enough to make me sweat. I dealt with this for a while cause my brother wouldnt be playing the consoles a lot back then, but now he plays for literally the same amount of time Im on the PC...4 hours or so. One day I said enough is enough! I didnt like sweating in my own room after a long day, so I decided to buy a fan. I went through a few pages before getting to the Vornado. What actually drew me here was the price, it was much higher then all the other fans I had looked at. So the question came to mind....is it really that good? Unfortunately, fan reviews are not easy to come by, which is understandable. So I just did some research on what made a Vornado so special from other fans. This fan actually circulates the air in your room and it feels like a light breeze all over your room. It brought down the temperature in my room by about 3 degrees, but on top of that its a constant breeze that cools you off, so it feels even better then what the thermal reads. Because of the way this circulates air, I actually had to not use my ceiling fan so it would not disrupt the circulation process. This fan blows out a TON more air then any fan I have ever had before. forewarning though, please be advised that it circulates air, that means it will not do its job if its pointed directly at you, it has to be pointing to some top corner of the room to move the air round properly. As far as the settings go, 1=Literally no sound at all, 2=Still pretty quite, 3=Now you might want to put a few notches up on your TV, 4= sounds like a normal fan now, its not super loud, but enough to notice a fan is on somewhere. As a suggestion I would get this fan above all the other Vornado whole room fans. Because what this fan can do on setting 2 and 3 is the high setting for the lower priced models and I like having the choice to go up or down to what I need. Now there is another model called 733, know that the 660 ( this one) is a lot better at energy conserving and can blow more amount of air at a quieter level. UPDATE 11/1/2017: I want to just let you all know Im still rocking this fan almost 4 years later and I still love it. Makes my room cool, if you have any questions, ask away!!! UPDATE 07/30/2019: Still rocking it after 5 years and it performs just like it did day one!

Just got the fan and plugged it in. Exactly what I needed and quickly cooled my office off! It is not quiet but I like the white noise.

I bought this Vornado to replace a very old Vornado of the same size when it finally died. I am not even sure what model the old one was because it was so old that the nameplate with all the model information was worn off. I looked at other fan types and brands, but decided to go with another Vornado. Pros: - Stylish: I like the looks of it. The gloss black portion can get attract fingerprints and dust, but it sits under a desk most of the time - Capable of moving a lot of air: It gets noisy at the third and fourth settings, but if you need it to push a lot of air it will - Relatively quiet at 2nd setting while still moving enough air: I mostly run it at the second setting where it is a good balance of air moved at a low noise level. It has a relatively pleasant white noise hum at this setting similar to my older Vornado. Cons: - Harder to move around and tilt than previous Vornados: This one may look more stylish than older models, but is a little more difficult to adjust the tilt. There is also no good place on top or back to hold it while you pick it up other than the sliding arm. That means means when you do pick it up and then set it back down, you have to adjust the tilt again. - Touch buttons: The location of the on/off and speed settings on the top may be more convenient than than a knob on the bottom like my old Vornado, but it comes with drawbacks. When youre trying to move the unit or adjust the tilt, it is very easy to hit one of the touch buttons to change speeds or turn it on/off. Not a big deal, just annoying. - On/Off button - Related to the last con, when you turn the unit on it immediately goes to the highest fan setting which is very loud. It is a minor annoyance, but I dont know why they set it up that way instead of starting it off at a lower setting. - Made unpleasant noises out of the box: It eventually went away, but it made some unpleasant noises that sounded to me like it was out of balance or defective initially. It was most apparent at the lower fan settings, but I decided to give it some time to see if it would go away before going through the hassle of sending it back. After about 4 or 5 days it had smoothed out and began to sound like my old Vornado. I have had no issues with it since. The cons I listed knocked it from 5 to 4 stars, but I am still satisfied with this fan. You will be hard-pressed to find another fan this size that is capable of moving the amounts of air it can when needed. You will also find it difficult to find another fan this size that is capable of relatively quiet operation while moving decent amounts of air like this one does at the second fan setting.

I have to air circulating air when I sleep. I use the 2nd setting and it is quiet enough so to not me bother with sleep. Could probably even go a higher level. I love that you can it take apart and clean the blade and inside fan grooves. Not a fast disassemble but not hard either.

We purchased two of these to circulate air from a pellet stove in different buildings. The Alexa automation is great for ducking -- to turn down the speed when people are speaking / listening to entertainment. Sure - its a nice to have voice command feature, but very handy. The speeds are pretty useful, though I doubt the air circulation speeds cited by Vornado are attainable in typical residential environments. That said, the website produces meaningful metrics that other manufacturers dont bother with, and this helps them to stand out.

After just a month of light use, the fan already clicks and rattles.

Definitely recommend! This small air circulator (not a fan, youll understand when you buy) is quiet and powerful. Sleep with a fan normally pointed at me in the bedroom. With this I just point it at the ceiling or opposite wall and still feel a nice small breeze in the whole room. Will also use this is the summer to circular air into the room that doesnt get AC. Easily would remember this if youre looking for a lot of airflow
