> 3 dayIf you are looking for a fan that moves a lot of air & provides consistent white noise, youve found it. There is NO rattling. I tried a different Vornado fan that fit my decor but it rattled. They sent me a new one. It rattled. I gave up & purchased this less expensive model that doesnt fit my decor & I am very happy with it. I would recommend this fan to anyone...

> 3 dayThis little fan has changed my life. My husband and I recently moved into a new place, and while it is perfect in almost every way, it’s lacking a ceiling fan in the bedroom. As someone who needs air circulation/movement to sleep, and not having a plug-in fan to use, I immediately started researching fans thinking we most likely would have to get some large, obnoxious, and unsightly fan in the name of being able to sleep comfortably. What I didn’t know is how far fan technology has come since I was a kid! Gone are the days of box fans or large oscillating fans (and even tower fans which are apparently a pain to clean). Now you can get a small, aesthetically pleasing fan with incredible power that will sit atop your dresser and turn your bedroom into a windstorm (if that’s your preference). Since receiving this amazing little fan we’ve had the best sleep we’ve had in years! We have yet to use anything but the lowest setting, and I’m not sure we’ll need the medium or high settings (except maybe to help paint dry or something), but it’s nice to know it can go higher if need be. You can almost feel the air bouncing off the walls (like the advertisement video), and the white noise has also been a nice bonus (although I wouldn’t say it’s loud by any means). We have the small size which is perfect for our bedroom space, and I imagine it could work for larger spaces on a higher setting, but a medium or large size may be needed. I never thought I would spend this much time reviewing a fan, but I love it that much! Highly recommend!!!

> 3 dayVery pleased with this. It is very effective in circulating air around the room, and takes up very little space. It does make some noise, but for me thats a positive--it doubles as a white-noise machine.

> 3 dayI decided on the Tornado 660 after searching for one small fan for my bedroom to replace a large white noise machine and standup fan. This was the Perfect purchase. I use the highest setting at night for the noise. Since it is not as loud as my sound machine, I was concerned it wouldnt be enough but actually is just enough soft noise. The air flow is beyond what I expected. I keep my house 67/68 degrees and have a medium size bedroom. My room was noticeably cooler in minutes. A lower setting would cool the room if you are not wanting the noise. The fan design is a plus, I love the look.

> 3 dayWe purchased two of these to circulate air from a pellet stove in different buildings. The Alexa automation is great for ducking -- to turn down the speed when people are speaking / listening to entertainment. Sure - its a nice to have voice command feature, but very handy. The speeds are pretty useful, though I doubt the air circulation speeds cited by Vornado are attainable in typical residential environments. That said, the website produces meaningful metrics that other manufacturers dont bother with, and this helps them to stand out.

> 3 dayAPPEARANCE: This is a very classy looking fan. Im sure you realize that this is not something you hear said very often about a fan. It is small enough to sit quietly in a corner without drawing undue attention. It has a vaguely modern look, especially in the chrome and white. The fan rests on a reasonably attractive circular base which sits quietly (even on a wood floor) when in use. The fan pivots on a curved chrome bar that allows it to go from straight ahead to pointing straight up at the ceiling, which would be handy if you wanted to move heated air from a high ceiling back down to the seating level. MECHANICS: The Vornado has the typical swirling front cover which, in addition to the partially sealed box around the blades, and the straight air fins on the back, create the purported Vornado effect. I say purported because Im not absolutely sure this fan spins the air and creates a whole room effect. In my tests, I compared this Vornado fan to a

> 3 dayMy fiancé had this same fan, but smaller and it finally took a dive. Be had had it for many years. When it took a dive he was bummed and wanted another one. I found this same one, but bigger here and he was soooo happy. This fan definitely works as it should and helps circulate the air around the room way better than a normal fan.

> 3 dayWe just spent almost $17,000 for a state of the art AC unit a couple weeks ago due to the phasing out of R22 / Freon and wanting to not continue punching holes in the Ozone later. As budding hippies we wanted to do the world a service but ended up super depressed when it was 115 degrees out and we discovered that the new units don’t really cool as well as the clunky old enviro-killers that were the R22s. Even with the thermostat at 72 degrees b our bedroom would hit 80 stuffy degrees due to ductwork and the fact that it is living on the roof where it is 165 degrees in the blistering Arizona sun. Anyway, you want to hear about the Vornado, not my rude awakening about modern AC units. So I was crazy excited about this purchase and was waiting at the door for it. I had watched some YouTube reviews and was sold even before the endings. Take my money NOW!!! Unboxing was standard. Very nicely packaged and a very solid fan. I adored how robust it feels and that it isn’t on a pedestal. Having 3 fans in the bedroom is not only a pain for us but confusing for our poor Roomba that is officially afraid of trying to map / chart our floor layout due to constantly moving pedestal fans. And cords everywhere. Just no. Anyway, we set up our little Vornado (the 660 is the model we went with) on the bedroom dresser and turned it on. Woah! It wasn’t fake force wind “WOAH!” but more like wind chill “woah.” We have a hot spot in the bedroom between the bed and window that gets really hot and stuffy. Our thermometer there reads 78-79 degrees. Well, I have taken all the pedestal fans out of the bedroom and have been running the Vornado for about 25 minutes and we are already reading 76 degrees and dropping. The ice cold air from our hallway is actually mixing in with the hot bedroom air and cooling effectively like the AC fan and ceiling fan is failing at. Mind you it is 107 outside and climbing. I can’t even describe my joy. We sat on the bed and it feels like cold air is going all around us. No weird hot spots or humidity. Just a really consistent “cold air is all around me” feeling and the absolute bliss that I don’t have to drop another 10k on ripping out all the ductwork. Guess who is buying another one of these for the guest suite? Yeah. This girl right here. 5 stars. I’m absolutely sold on this.

> 3 dayI seriously overheat when I sleep, particularly in warmer months of the year (I live in Ohio, so we do get cold temps part of the year). I was looking for a fan, originally. Something I could point at myself to get cooler air directly on me. Instead I ended up learning the difference between a fan and an air circulator, and Im a believer now! This thing is amazing. Pointing it directly on me definitely provides a breeze, though not as strong as one youll get from a fan. But thats not the purpose of the air circulator. This baby creates a breeze in my bedroom, so that I get the feeling of standing outside on a spring day! And in the process, it standardizes the temp so that the floor isnt cold while the upper part of the room is hot. Now, my bedroom is small (~150 sqft), and this particular model has far more power than is needed for that space, but I compared it to several other models and it was easily my favorite. The level 2 setting is perfect for summer, and has a very low noise level; running on top level (4), its enough that it would likely be a problem to a light sleeper, but its about the same as the fan I was using before. (I think its ~60db). Its also worth a mention that on the top level, this model is supposed to move air up to 500sqft, maybe more. I believe this number is accurate! Even running it upstairs, I can feel (subtly) the air circulation downstairs in my 700-sqft home. (Its most pronounced at the base of the stairs.) When I run it downstairs, it easily gets the entire ground floor, despite there being numerous obstacles in the way. Seriously, its amazing. It changed my life. Im a Vornado believer now. Buy it and try it -- you wont look back.
