> 3 dayIve tried other types of fans but nothing compares to these vornado fans! They work great and last for years! Definitely does the job circulating air through the house. We have a big home with window AC units and these fans do the job to help move the air through and cool down the rest of the house! We use this one in our high ceiling living room and I can feel the wind blowing from it all the way upstairs from the landing that looks down into the room.

> 3 dayThis fan is quiet and actually pushed air. I’ve had so many junk fans that make a lot of noise and don’t push air. I’m sticking with this company going forward. Awesome fan

> 3 dayI did not find that this fan move/circulated air around as strong as any other fan which was the purpose of the purchase. I do however like the fan for use for white noise. As a light sleeper it works to keep me in a deep sleep. Although not for what it was intended I did find that it worked for another purpose.

> 3 dayBought this along with the Honeywell Turboforce Fan, Ht-900, 11 inch to compare the two. The lowest setting on this fan moves about the same as the higher on the Honeywell, but the higher settings are proportionally more noisy. Back handle makes for easy moving, though the same handle also makes it a bit hard to reach the speed setting.

Greater than one weekIts summer. If you are lucky, you have air conditioning. Most people in Seattle do not. When we purchased our house, one of the first things we did was get AC. Why? Because my wife (and honestly I) cant sleep in a hot room. We have a 3 story, new house. As such its incredibly well insulated and when it gets hot, it stays hot for a long while. When purchasing our house though, we made the mistake of getting whole house air conditioning because our house was plumbed for it. However in hindsight, that was a mistake. We would have been way better off installing a Ductless Mini-Split system in our 3 bedrooms. This would have provided the correct sleeping temperature in the only rooms that we need cooling, without wasting money cooling our whole house (mostly unnecessary here in Seattle). Ductless mini-split is designed for people that dont have ducting (radiant heat or no heat), but they can also act as heat pumps and heat in the winter. Think of them as basically an air conditioner that can run in reverse to heat as well. Anyway, whats done is done. We have a problem though. Our bedroom is quite large (with vaulted ceilings), and on a moderately warm day (> 76) our room gets beaten by the sun, and with the vaulted ceilings doesnt really cool down enough by the evening. After a few years of pondering a solution, it turned out some old school tech was all that was needed. A Fan. What is it? The Vornado 660 Whole Room Air Circulator is a Fan, but its not really designed to blow air at you. Its designed to circulate the air in the room. And boy does this thing move air around. It turns out that air movement (or the lack theirof) is the primary reason our room didnt cool down. Our ceiling would collect hot air, and that hot air would fall as the day went on, crushing the ability for our ducts to push enough cool air to keep things comfy. You can see from the photo, that this thing looks nice. It comes in White and Black [$99 @ Amazon]. We chose white for our room. Its not a nice looking as say the $300-$400 Dyson Fans, but the cost / benefit to this guy is kinda nuts in my opinion. The reason its tilted up because you are supposed to point it at say the corner ceiling of your room to get air circulating. You do not point it at your bed for example. Why did you get it? I got this particular Fan because of the rave reviews on Amazon, and my general familiarity with Vornado. I wanted to love the idea of getting a Dyson fan, but the reviews are pretty mixed and the cost is pretty high. How has it made your life better? Weve had this Fan for a few weeks and my general observation is that its cooled our room about 3-4 degrees. Thats a pretty substantial difference for us. I have placed it within the vicinity of our duct, and so it managed to capture cool air (roughly 50-60 degree) and blow it straight up to the vaulted ceiling, pushing the hotter air down back into the room. The fan has 4 speed settings. The lowest setting produces a very comfortable flow of air with minimal noise. The 2nd setting is a bit stronger with a bit louder, but tolerable noise for sleeping. 3 and 4 are left for mega hot days (80+ degrees outside) and we leave it on 3-4 during the day and then 1-2 at night. Are you going to keep it? This should last a good long time. We plan on getting a smaller model for our daughters room which has a different problem. Too cold in the winter as her room is over our garage, and it tends to be a cold spot in our house.

> 3 dayGood for white noise and strong air flow. I wouldnt have purchased it if I had seen how small it was - but Im glad I did. Perfect for our large bedroom even with it on the lowest setting. Attractive fan.

> 3 dayVornado had been my first choice in fans for nearly two decades. They’re nice looking, quality construction, quiet, and they sure move a lot of air for their size. Every Vornado fan I’ve ever bought in the last 20-ish years is still working perfectly. This particular fan is a really quiet one and pages a lot of air. It handles a pretty big space, about 20x24 feet. The old (non-Vornado) fan I replaced was set up in an Alexa plug so I could just tell Alexa to turn it on. This fan has electronic switches for on/off and up: down speed, so doesn’t work with an Alexa switch.

> 3 dayI love this fan! Its perfect for my need which is in a smallish condo bathroom with no window. I take a lot of long bubble baths and need air circulation - and with hot showers too obviously . A hot bath is wonderful but without airflow, it gets too hot and suffocating! I could drag my big Lasko cyclone or wind machine floor fan to the bathroom door but thatd be a pain everytime. It is the perfect size too. I had one of those (worthless) tower fans that even on high is not much better than this fan on low or low-medium. For a long bath, Ive found the 3rd highest setting is perfect pointed at me about 7-8 feet away and then after, I point it more upwards and crank it to the next level which is the highest I think - just to get everything in the bathroom good and dry (mirror, towels, whatever). It takes up the same diameter floor space as the tower fan I had but really works MUCH better. The noise on the first or second setting is barely audible but the 3rd and 4th settings are definitely louder but not so loud that I cant hear my music or anything. I know this is a long review for a fan, and quite pricey but if it works to keep me cool during baths and keeps the room from turning into a swampy rainforest after that or showers - its worth it. Trust me, Ive tried many fans (including other small floor fans) for this particular need and finally found it :) In this case, I feel its money well spent. Also small and light enough to easily take to a friend or family members home if need be. My only minimal complaint is that the chrome handle on the back is quite difficult to move the fan position up and down. Also, I wish it oscillated from side to side but considering for the size its the strongest breeze fan in such a small size - and for my needs - Im keeping it!

> 3 dayThis fan really circulates air well. I generally just have it facing ceiling - and I can feel a real difference. I’m in Vermont where it doesn’t get terribly hot for long periods. I use it with the heat on and seems to help my lungs get air. It came ready to use. Only had a few months so I hope it works a long time. Also bought a cheaper similar fan for a bathroom that did nothing so i’m now a Vornado fan. If it stops working I will update.
