At least with the Wahl Magic Clip that I received, all plastic guide combs do not fit onto the blades - so loose that they almost fall off. While not sure that a Wahl set of combs with metal clips would fit better, I ordered them in hopes of a better fit. Wahl combs with metal clips are a better fit. These metal clipped combs are significantly higher priced than others offered on amazon.com, but I was too unsure that other combs would work.

Ive been using plastic guards for many years and when I tried metal guard, it truly feels good when cutting hair. This guards cuts super better than plain Wahl plastics. Its little bit costly, but super worth it. Since Im a hairstylist, I bought 2 packs for work. Will buy again !!

Ive used these countless times over the last several months and not one has broken, and their performance compared to 100% plastic ones is superior. Thats the reason I bought these. The cheaper 100% plastic alternative, and most common, break all the time. The a100% plastic version will break over time regardless of whether youre careful with them or not. The plastic version over time breaks from the stress of bending the lip into place on the clippers repeatedly. This eventually causes that part to snap off. These dont have that problem because they are metal in that specific area. Perfect. And they snap in to place better too..

If you have the guards that come with your Wahl clippers, donate them to your local beauty school. These are game changers! Fit like a glove. Smooth glide. Sturdy. The stand they come in convinced me immediately. Searching through a bag of guards just looks messy to clients and is frustrating. I do recommend getting the extra 1 1/2 & 1/2 guards. They’re sold separately. Absolutely worth it!!

These are superior to the plastic guides that kept breaking. I think they are going to last a very long time.

Great gaurs

Very sturdy, good quality. Clips tight, I know they wont come off while Im cutting. Only wish they would include the .5 and 1.5 guards instead of the larger sizes that I dont use as a professional barber.

These are good, typical wahl guards. I just don’t like how they were sent to me with a lot of hair on them. I don’t mind used products, but these things were DIRTY.
