Greater than one weekWhile these were very easy to use and install, it also has a bit of sturdiness to them. I’ve given it a 5 star review over all but with this disclaimer. You have a 16 week old Labradane (Lab + Great Dane) puppy that’s 50lbs. When determined to get upstairs, he climbs over. Yet the gate held true with these wall nanny’s. However, When there is a bored 8yo boy that’s grounded from electronics. It will not hold up the punch that a twin mattress and small framed child riding down the stairs like a surf board in Hawaii before a storm.

08-06-2025Found out that our house is an odd width at the stairs and just couldn’t make the baby gate work. These saved us from having to buy a brand new gate. Very effective.

> 3 dayThe first product I bought Didnt even cut close to want I needed. Im sure that was on me, looking at different products and stirring away from the one I wanted. I bought a 36 inch extender and was considering another 4 inch! I had about 62.5 inches to cover, Ugh I was so short, but I was able to order these 2 inch nanny extenders (4 - 2 top and 2 bottom along with another 36 inch extender w/o a gate and it fit the exact size I needed.) My dog is still a pup ( a naughty one at that) and her head can squeeze thru the edges, its only a matter of time before her head gets too big, if you have smaller dogs, get a other extender to close he gap.

> 3 dayMy dog used to be able to push the gate over, because I could not set the gate with enough tension. The dog is just too strong. With the wall nanny, the gate doesn’t budge, and my dog can no longer push over the gate. My walls are safe. However, it’s true. It takes two people to install. I did it by myself with more difficulty. Not impossible. Just frustrating. But it’s not a fault of the product itself. That’s just the way it is.

Greater than one weekIf you need a wide to sort of widen a baby gate without buying an expensive extender these will do. We use a baby gate to keep our dogs from the second floor and our gate (w/these extenders) lives at the top of the stairs. It doesnt feel super stable, but our dogs wont dare lean on or press on the baby gate so... I will likely check the tightness of the gates little adjusters every so often to make sure theres the right amount of pressure. I think in the right wall situation these could be sturdier (Like will these be up against a flat wall as opposed to baseboard/trim?) or if you dont need to extend the gate adjuster thingies out too far. Apparently, our threshold area is super wide? For a tag sale baby gate this will do fine.

> 3 dayHad to install these in the vertical position, but they work great and solve the issue of my goldens being able to knock their gate down with ease.

> 3 dayI love this product. It adds more cush to protect my walls and this was super easy to use. First I bought the thinner set for a puppy gate. I have a 4 lb escape artist and I needed new big heavy gate. It was so easy I bought a second 2 inch set to put up another puppy gate. Funny thing... I had not put up the second puppy gate yet because It was a couple inches too short. This SOLVED the shortage problem. The gate is steady and secure.

> 3 dayMy hallway was just an inch too small to add the other gate piece but 4 inches too big to install the gate without. These extenders were exactly what I needed to be able to put up our gate. They give an extra 2 inches on either side. So 4 inches all together. Works great. I’ve had to move it and they never damaged my walls when moving them.

> 3 dayIn the past I used these to install a gate and was very happy with them. I recently ordered a second set for another gate. The doorway for the second gate was narrower and I could not use all four extenders with the gate I have so I only used two on one side of the gate. It is still secure in a wood framed doorway.
