Zoo Med Labs Aviansun Deluxe Floor Lamp with Aviansun,Silver,3.4 x 11.5 x 22.5"

Im a BIG review reader and did quite a bit of research and review reading prior to purchasing the Zoo Med Aviansun Deluxe Floor Lamp. I just received, put together, and placed the lamps today so... this is an initial review and may be adjusted as time goes by. First, as to the quality... honestly, it could be a bit better for the price. To be clear, I did not have a problem putting the lamp together. The cord pulled through the segments easily and the threads to the separate sections screwed together without incident. The weighted base does seem quite adequate when removed from the box - but - when fully put together the lamp isnt exactly super sturdy, due to its height. Itd be fine I suppose on a flat, hard surface, but placing it on carpet will obviously affect its overall stability. Heres what surprised me the most though... the reflective triangle light cover is made of plastic (I was surprised by that) and the reflective coating also doesnt seem to be of very high quality. It doesnt mean that it doesnt work, I was just surprised the bulb cover was plastic and the reflective coating was so cheap looking. Both of the weighted bases were also slightly chipped, dented, and a bit discolored upon receipt, not sure Id return them for that specifically though. Now for the impact that Ive seen with my parrots, a Sun Conure and Green Cheeked Amazon. My Sun Conure is soon to be 28 years and is super chill and adaptable so he was fine, a bit wary but fine. My Green Cheeked Amazon freaked out a little bit but very quickly adapted to the light. The brightness of the light is actually less than what I was expecting it to be but I suppose the UVA and UVB are the important aspects of the purpose of the light, and I imagine you wouldnt want it too bright anyway. I really havent noticed any change in their behavior yet but I am glad that so many other reviewers did... thats why we purchase items such as this, so our feathered darlings have what they need to keep them healthy and happy. I hope this light will provide them healthful benefits and will report back and add to my review should I note any changes, good or bad. Good luck and good health to all! :-)

Didnt even have it 10 minutes before it broke, it is now duct taped together.

I bought this for desert quail I had rescued as babies. I tried to release them once they became of age but they came back! So I bought these for their enclosure so they had sunshine/UV for the winter. I could tell their digestion, mood, energy increased within a week. Definitely worth it for the crazy birds wellbeing.

I bought this for my African Grey Congo. He picks his neck and chest feathers. The light has reduced the feather picking over 2 months, but not yet eliminated it. All other issues my vet recommended have already been addressed. I am hopeful the picking will gradually continue to decline. The light doesnt put out as much light as I expected. I have also added a full spectrum Ott light nearby.

All birds should have these lights. If you love em get this for them

I was hesitant after reading reviews if this was worth the cost. I was wrong! It went together perfectly. Sturdy! Price includes bulb!! This is the one to buy for your birds!!

I’ve had one of these lamps for at least 13 years. I bought a new one recently when I adopted an additional parakeet. This new version is so much better than the old one. The lamp stand and shade are much sturdier and still very affordable. I plan to buy another one to replace my older lamp stand and bulb. I like the package deal of new bulb with the lamp. Note: You need to replace the lamp at least once a year to continue to benefit the bird.
