Great light, weighted base, easy assembly, very nice height, and flexible adjustable goose neck. Complete with bulb. My bird absolutely loves it. Constantly singing and chattering. Highly recommend.

We read that its theorized African Grays have night frights due to deficiencies from not enough sun/being indoors. Our gray started having issues after our previous bulb aged/got too dim. Ever since getting this lamp, she hasnt had ONE episode whatsoever! Super thrilled! She also will preen herself more, nap under it, and seems just generally more cheerful with this new lamp! So happy shes happy!

I give Sachi at least 2 hours of UVB a day and her feathers and attitude are amazing and I think this is contributing towards that

I NEVER leave reviews for products. But this is review worthy. Im a passionate bird momma and I rescue, rehabilitate and rehome birds in need. I have 7 babies of my own and have been wanting to try these for awhile. Its been a dreary winter and we noticed our conure starting to chew his belly feathers, which has never happened before. I decided it was time to finally buy some of these lights. I bought two of them. I actually need to buy one or two more since I have multiple cages, but I didnt want to buy a ton of them and not like them. Well .... now I wish I would have just bought as many as I needed because I love them and now theyre out of stock and I have to wait. I didnt find them to be flimsy or cheap feeling AT ALL. As a matter of fact, I found them to be the complete opposite. The base is more than heavy enough to keep it stable and it feels really secure and good quality. They came packaged nicely and were easy to put together. Within minutes of turning these lights on, my birds were SO active and SO happy. We have an older amazon and she doesnt do much most of the time. She is a chatter box but she isnt very active and she very very rarely will even think about touching the toys in her cage. I think I can count on one hand the amount of times that she even touched one of them for more than 1 minute. Within minutes of this light being on above her cage she was DESTROYING the biggest shredding toy in her cage, which she hadnt touched once before. She shredded that thing for a good 30 minutes straight. I was literally MIND BLOWN because that is so unlike her and weve never EVER seen her do that before. It was amazing. My other birds were acting like little clowns. So playful and active and clearly just very happy. I wasnt expecting to see results THAT FAST but my goodness .... it was like night and day. I had totally different birds the moment those lights turned on. 1,000% recommend these for all birds. I think every bird should have one and Im sad that I waited so long to finally buy these. I cant wait to get a few more! Seriously, if you are considering buying one of these .... PLEASE DO! Ill be recommending them to everyone and I now feel like its a necessity for all bird owners. PLEASE GET YOUR BIRDS ONE OF THESE LIGHTS!!! Well done ZooMed!

Exactly what I needed, works perfectly in providing full-spectrum lighting for my African Grey Parrot

The quality and sturdiness of this lamp for its price point really surprised me. The base is very heavy, and and once all the segments are screwed together tightly, It stands up perfectly straight and doesn’t wobble one bit on my tile floor. The construction is not perfect—the reflector is flimsy very lightweight plastic—and the styling won’t exactly send you to the moon, but it looks very nondescript and will fit into almost all decors. The light output is good, but I think about a 30” long cage is the max for it’s spread, and it’s ideally suited for 18”-24” long, or smaller, cages. While I’ve seen this bulb tested, and, yes, it does produce both UVA and UVB, it’s not a lot and it won’t last long (as is the volatile nature of gases within fluorescent tubes). If you’re really concerned about getting UVA and UVB light onto your bird, and taking them outdoors is not an option, I would recommend changing the bulb every six months, and get it as close to the top of the cage as you can. The UVA and UVB rays are only strong for about 3 inches under the bulb, and then rapidly diminish as you get further away. So to get the most UVA and UVB exposure look at a 12 hour photo per day. I use this light as a very effective and affordable supplement for the afternoons when my home starts to get dark. My bird gets outdoor time, in semi full sun, at least 3-5 times per week. They really do need sunlight for good health, and while this light can certainly help, I just can’t think of it (knowing the limitations of fluorescent tubes ) as a miracle replacement for the real deal.

I bought this for the UVB and UVA it provides for my bird. It is perfect. The base is small enough to place behind his cage out of the way and the goose neck allows me to position it properly over the cage. I’ve been very pleased with it and it appears my bird has been as well. My only complaint is that the pole is a tad thinner than I would have liked. All and all I love it and don’t regret buying it one bit!

This is a great light for my birds room. It was easy to assemble and seems durable for the price.
