My birds love the light. They enjoy preening under the light and just hanging out. While the base of the light stand is heavy the pole and lamp seem a bit lofty. Im afraid that it will tip over with a good bump. The pole could be wider for more stability. So, Im just careful where I place the lamp and only put it on when I am home.

Works great, seems to be made well.

This type of light was recommended to us by our vet because our blue feonted Amazon had some deficiences from the lack of sunlight over the winter. It took him a while to warm up to it, but he is doing well with it now, and his condition is improving.

I have one but needed a 2nd for a different cage. Bird loves to perch underneath. Not too hot that Im concerned about any danger. Worth the cost.

The quality and sturdiness of this lamp for its price point really surprised me. The base is very heavy, and and once all the segments are screwed together tightly, It stands up perfectly straight and doesn’t wobble one bit on my tile floor. The construction is not perfect—the reflector is flimsy very lightweight plastic—and the styling won’t exactly send you to the moon, but it looks very nondescript and will fit into almost all decors. The light output is good, but I think about a 30” long cage is the max for it’s spread, and it’s ideally suited for 18”-24” long, or smaller, cages. While I’ve seen this bulb tested, and, yes, it does produce both UVA and UVB, it’s not a lot and it won’t last long (as is the volatile nature of gases within fluorescent tubes). If you’re really concerned about getting UVA and UVB light onto your bird, and taking them outdoors is not an option, I would recommend changing the bulb every six months, and get it as close to the top of the cage as you can. The UVA and UVB rays are only strong for about 3 inches under the bulb, and then rapidly diminish as you get further away. So to get the most UVA and UVB exposure look at a 12 hour photo per day. I use this light as a very effective and affordable supplement for the afternoons when my home starts to get dark. My bird gets outdoor time, in semi full sun, at least 3-5 times per week. They really do need sunlight for good health, and while this light can certainly help, I just can’t think of it (knowing the limitations of fluorescent tubes ) as a miracle replacement for the real deal.

I love that the base is actually hefty so theres not much danger of knocking the lamp over. It was simple to assemble and its easy to adjust the neck however youd like. It puts out great light, and my bird has shown a noticeable improvement. Being able to actually see all of the colors her eyes are naturally capable of seeing is probably a huge mood booster! I place the lamp over the cage in such a way that she can choose to be directly beneath it or sit elsewhere, out from direct exposure. She makes obvious choices to sit beneath it- perches shed never visit before are now favorite basking spots.

This is a great alternative to letting your birds get some UV rays if you can’t take them outside. My birds love it and even hang out below it when they are out of their cage. Great product!

So I normally dont write to many reviews but i definitely have to review this product. It was super easy to assemble and it seems to be good quality. But the reason I decide to review this product is because its made a huge diffrence on my birds behaviour. At first my female quaker was terrified of it but after a few hours near it she got over it, but omg what a remarkable difference in her behaviour. Since I put it up shes been singing, talking and chirping none stop. Ive had my bird for a month now n I never heard her speak but since I put this up she finally gave us her first word (hello). Not only is she talking alot more but her stress bars wich is why I bought this in the first place, has faded away. She seems alot happier now. I definitely recommend this light !! It was well worth the money.
