Got this as a work/writing laptop and have been really pleased! The solid state drive is a huge blessing; very short restart/load times. I have a desktop computer for gaming, but I can actually play a few easier-to-run games (Stardew Valley, Undertale, point and click, Nancy Drew) My only negative is that I prefer to have actual buttons for the mouse buttons, but on this laptop its all part of the track pad. If you dont mind that, then this is a great choice!

Purchased last year, now 12/6/2021, a couple of months ago my mouse started freezing and disappearing. The 12C HID Driver kept going into error code 10 (cannot start) - sometimes the driver would just totally disappear from the mouse hardware screen. I tried everything from deleting it and reinstalling to deactivating and reactivating, to upgrading to Windows II. Since this Acer Aspire 5 is no longer under warranty - good luck getting any assistance from Acer. I really like this commuter until this year. BUT would not buy again since I continue to experience the mouse freezing and disappearing and no permanent solution to the driver issue. :-( Thank you Acer!!! :-(

So far I love it! Its bigger then I expected but its light weight which I love. The laptop itself looks like good quality for the price! The keyboard lights up which I love. The speed is okay. Would recommend if youre looking for a laptop on a budget.

Great budget laptop, the only thing I did was replace one of the 4gb ram sticks with an 8gb stick and it runs like a top, no complaints at all.

At first I really liked this laptop. Its simple but just what I needed. I purchased on 9/3/19 and it would not turn on by 11/12/19. After trying everything to troubleshoot I contacted Acer warrantee and Amazon and am now getting the run around from both despite having purchased the protection plan. Very frustrating and time-consuming.

this laptop is giving me nightmares. the touchpad is super sensitive to accidentally turning off. ok, fine. restart and its back to normal if nothing else works (forgetting the inconvenience). then this morning after an update to windows 10, the touchpad isnt simply off. it isnt in settings, there are no drivers, its just effing gone. so here i am, using a mouse i hate, because the laptop basically doesnt work as a laptop. take into consideration when thinking about purchasing this model. its cheap, yes, but if you actually need to use on the go or in your lap, its a bad choice.

This laptop is perfect for teachers! I can do everything I need for lessons and planning on it. It is also relatively lightweight and ready to travel with.

For some odd reasons my screen goes black whenever it’s moved????

This is a great laptop for my teenager. All needs for virtual learning met and google classroom. Lightweight.
