> 3 dayI have had the Acer Aspire 5 for about a week now. I am a teacher and sharing a laptop for work and for my photography hobby was not working out. So far I am very pleased with this purchase with a few cons.

> 3 dayI use this laptop for schoolwork and so far, its been great! Its light and big and pretty, it looks like a MacBook but with a freaking number pad! Runs smooth and quick, even when using large Excel files (the only thing I was worried about as its not extremely expensive, but it works great!) Excellent altogether, no complaints so far!

> 3 dayThe only thing wrong with this computer is the heavy handed control from Microsoft .It constantly fights to keep you from using anything but Edge , Bing , and Norton . I had to have a computer expert help me get Google on and Norton off . Very frustrating . Otherwise love it !

> 3 dayI compared laptops for several weeks before buying. This machine had all I wanted and nothing I didnt need. Ive been using it for several months now without a single problem or complaint. The case is sleek and sturdy. The keyboard is quiet and responsive. The touchpad took some getting used to, but thats always the case with a new laptop. The battery life is INSANELY good -- I can go for days without plugging in under casual use. The boot-up is super-fast, as expected. Processing has never bogged down. I use this machine for Internet, document creation, regular office stuff. I do not use it for gaming, as it is not intended for gaming. The value for the price is just unheard of these days.

Greater than one weekBought at very low price (Prime purchase). Only drawback is that it does not have SD card port, but bought $10 USB converter so no big deal. For my simple home needs laptop is more than adequate. Training now to use Windows 10. Windows 7 convert due to expiring support beginning 2020. Speed is great with solid state drive. Storage adequate for home needs. At $389 it was a bargain. Highly Recommended.

Greater than one weekBought this need little laptop for $467 dollars. Added 500 GB SSD for $80 dollars and 1x16 GB of ram for $70 and this thing is just plain awesome. There was an 8 GB ram stick in there and theres only 1 slot, so if youre thinking of an upgrade in ram, you should get the 16 GB one. Good thing I took the back off and look inside before upgrading, since there have been conflicting reports on how many ram slots there are from other buyers in the review section.

> 3 dayBattery life is around 3.5 to 4 hours on the average. It is not a touchscreen. The screen resolution is not that vivid. The backlight does not stay on. I mostly bought the laptop for school work. Overall I like the acer laptop so far.
