I use it for Mac OS 11 Time machine and it couldnt be better for me. I just plugged it in formatted it set it for Time Machine backup and off it went. The USB connection is firm and stable. Sooo much better than firewire 800 or thunderbolt. The drive it hard and rubberized for durability.

I cant review this yet. My Seagate died after 10 months, if this is still working after 10 years, Ill review it.

I purchased this hard drive in Sept 2020. I use it for travel and unplug the cable every time it is moved and it stays in a case during travel. By December 2020, roughly used 8 times, the USB cable would only complete the connection if the cable was pushed at an down angle at the drive. I then contacted ADATA for warranty and they asked me to send it in after they verified it was still under warranty I sent the drive in on Dec 12, 2020 and received an email on Dec 17, 2020 that my return was accepted and a new drive was going to be shipped in 3 -5 days. It is now Jan 2021 and I still do not have a replacement drive. It took several calls and emails before I finally talked to someone and was told that the drive was on back order so they could not ship me one. I stated to them that could send me a different drive as long as it had the same specs or a refund because they couldnt even tell me when they were going to get new drives even though I could order the same drive on Amazon and get it tomorrow. I was told that was not an option and I would have to wait. Horrible customer service.

I did take note of previous reviews complaining about the firmness of the connection of the cable/port. I noticed no such issues. However, Im a little disappointed with the port cover. I dont have to man-handle it, but the insert on the cover flap that secures it isnt very deep and requires a little finagling to make it stay on to my satisfaction. Transfer speed is satisfactory, and as always, depends on the speed of the connection and the other storage device yourre transferring to/from. I purchased two, for on and off-site backup, also mirrored to iDrive. First time I purchased a rugged drive, so only time will tell. The goal is always to never have to see it in action :). Note: Not regarding this drive specifically, just my research. There isnt much accountability or certification going on in the realm of calling something mil-spec. Just search online for yourself. i dont want to ding this device -- just add a word of caution before you purchase an item like this.

These drives are good drives. I ordered two for my wife, in different colors so she could use them for different applications, and theyve been very solid. Dont expect them to be extremely fast, because at the heart, they are 2.5 laptop drives, but they are great for transferring files between home and school, or to a friends computer, or whatever you need.

The sales ad said for Windows 10, it just had to be plugged in and it starts backing up data. This was not so for me. After several unsuccessful attempts to transfer data, I downloaded the user manual and finally, by manually going through each step, I was able to successfully download some of my files. I have not yet been able to completely transfer all files yet. Im sure it is capable of doing what it says it will do but I have not yet figured out exactly how to accomplish that.

Works great so far for storing pics and files rather than using cloud.
