Greater than one weekThis is a good device with one critical flaw. It cuts my Internet speed substantially and I ended up having to return it. PROs: - Easy to set up - Great wireless coverage - Excellent parental controls - Very configurable for gamers and other tech-savvy people. CONs: Unfortunately, this is a deal-breaker. When i install tis router on mu network, internet speeds drop from over 900mbps to under 100. I did extensive troubleshooting before deciding to return it. Changing Wi-Fi settings, updating firmware, disabling traffic monitoring and QoS settings, rolling back firmware, using a hardwired cable with different network adapters... If it was a small drop that would be one thing, but it is quite noticeable and makes it hard for me to even work from home over a VPN connection.

> 3 dayWhat can I say, style, speed, ease of use. Amazing for gaming, streaming, and surfing. I’ve had zero hiccups in almost a year and the user interface is fantastic. Easy the best wifi switch I’ve ever owned. I simply cannot say enough good things about this unit. Money well spent.

> 3 dayMy previous Asus router was still working but decided to upgrade to get better coverage in my multi-story home. I had previously moved from TP-Link to Asus due to the latters frequent firmware upgrades and the availability of Merlin firmware (an enhanced version of the Asus firmware). I am very pleased with this router. The wifi signal is slightly stronger at every location in my house. I dont have any Wifi6 devices yet but probably will some day and this router will be ready. I dont do gaming so I cant comment on that aspect nor have I needed tech support.

Greater than one weekIve had streaming issues and while using a vpn thought it was the vpn or maybe throttling of my internet. Tried various routers and love the easy to use Asus interface. My most recent was an asus ax56u. Great router for everything except streaming. So I decided to take the leap and stick with asus and upgrade to this router. BAM... all streaming issues solved including using a vpn. Super fast. Its like night and day. Setup is easy as I was able to switch out my old router with the new in less than 30 mins. Could have been faster but I took my time and went through all settings before testing it out. Now I have 3 tvs, a pc, several tablets, smart plugs, a security system etc all up and running stress free. This router has a punch unlike any router ive used before. Its fast, real fast.

> 3 dayI replaced my 6+ year old Asus router that was starting to have some issues with this. Wifi signal to the far rooms in the house improved greatly and speed is better. The performance of the user interface is drastically improved also. In the bedroom YouTube used to be questionable with frequent buffering, but not anymore. When both Xboxes were playing online streaming would also buffer but that has improved to.

> 3 dayI like the built in DNS server options which allow various types of blocking (ads / content) at the network level. Solid signal and great range.

> 3 dayMy internet setup is pretty vanilla. I have a Motorola MB8600 DOCSISv3.1 modem and my internet provider is XFinity. I bought this router to take advantage of the updated gaming features and the good reviews ASUS routers get. I used the built in setup and didnt change anything in the settings other than the router login and network names. A few weeks after I set it up, it lost the internet connection. I did the usual, i.e. reboot the router, reboot my modem and the router again. Finally, I used the reset button and that got it back. I immediately made sure I had the updated firmware and reran the setup. A few weeks later, the same thing happened. This time, all of those steps didnt help. I even tried the hard reset and the internet connection lights stayed stubbornly red. ASUS tech support is very unhelpful since all they suggested I do is the same steps I had already performed.....3 times. Im returning the router to Amazon and trying another one to see if maybe I got one that had some sort of issue. I been through this before with other routers but was expecting better from ASUS. So, I used the utility to restore the latest firmware to my router. I then downloaded the app for my iPad to configure the router. It would not connect automatically so I had to go through the manual setup and it finally connected. Im back on the internet for now so I cancelled my return . Added another star and keeping my fingers crossed.
