Bought this router to replace our first gen google wifi mesh system which was struggled to get through plaster walls. Setting up the router was pretty simple, but I ran into some issues with my smart devices losing connection. The router UI has a warning in the Wireless settings telling you to switch it to legacy mode for 2.4ghz, but its still not very clear. More of a UX problem. Once I got that fixed I have solid wifi throughout the house, even in my basement office.

Everything worked fine connected to my cable modem with one cable.

Configurable for DNS servers - Google, Cloudflare etc. Easy firmware updates. Has many config parameters that I dont use. Pays attention to security. I added an ethernet to MoCA adapter; works fine.

I had a really hard time trying to get this to work. I had to call a tech for help and he was very helpful and got it working for me. After a days use I came to the conclusion that what I had before worked better; Verizons modem/router all in one unit.

Handles 30+ devices nicely, no congestions and no disconnects. The garage openers historically used to have weak signals but not with this router. Web GUI and IOS APP are an amazing way to quickly configure the router.

So I have seem a few people are having problems with this router, but I still chose to buy it

My old Linksys kept locking up and was molasses slow. I plugged in this ASUS in and right from the start I had fast trouble free ethernet and Wifi signals. Its been running for over a month now and has never locked up. Love this device.

Strong signal, good wall penetration, easy setup, easy app usage and fast speeds. awesome next gen router with backwards compatibility and great for gaming outside a gaming router. Able to be used as a extender.
