> 3 dayBought to separate my smart home devices from personal ones. Left all smart ones on the ac88u with wpa2 and moved every personal device to this ax88u to leverage wifi6 and wpa3. I’m on an xfinity 900mbs plan and easily hit the max every time while being on wifi. However, nothing new in the interface. Still lots of soft resets required when updating settings which is very annoying f.e. when you work with Mac filtering and device description updates.

> 3 dayUnbelievable signal strength. A bit challenging setup to FIOS but did it. The app would be better served it it allowed me to select 2.4 speed manually when the auto assign selected 5

> 3 dayDoes not work when connected neither to the optical modem provided with Bell Fibe, nor to its Home hub 2000. Currently communicating to the ASUS tech service to determine whether it is a problem related to the modem, or an incompatibility with the internet system provided by Bell.

> 3 dayI got this to replace a TP-Link that I had which just died. This has wifi speeds as fast as the wired connections. The UI for administration is very good, but I think the parental controls could be a little better. I previously was able to create a profile for each child and map the mac addresses of all their devices to the profile and apply the rules. I have to do individual devices with this. Its not bad, but it was more convenient before.

> 3 dayHad some issues at first with the updating of the firmware. Word of advice, do a manual firmware update by going to Asus website and download the firmware then go into the router settings and choose the manual update option. When allowing the router to do it automatically it would not update and the router would drop signal for long periods of time and not respond. Since the updating Ive had zero issues and its been a nice upgrade over the old router which now Im getting the full 1.3Gbps speed from Comcast and not the 630Mbps I was getting. The only complaint I have is the price.

21-11-2024This thing is rock solid. Seriously. Coming from a Netgear Nighthawk R9000 that would constantly drop signal, this RTAX88U is a big win. More ports, AX wifi for future devices, and holy cow the interface is night and day compared to Netgears. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

> 3 dayI have been happily using Asus products for years but this one has been a bad experience. I had months of issues, unreliable and unpredictable behaviour, with both wireless and wired until it started having daily failures and I could prove the problem was the hardware. Asus support took 15 minutes to reach the same conclusion (hardware failure) and had me ship back the device for repair but having to pay $80+ of shipping after so many hours of frustration leaves a bitter taste. Especially when it seems so many others are having reliability problems with that device. I suggest to stay away and use a different model or brand...

> 3 dayPurchased this 10/2019 and it worked as expected, range of WIFI was great. Handled 58 devices with ease, was easy to manage with the app or web interface.
