I was hesitant to buy this router with the mixed reviews, but after plugging it in and updating the firmware I am connected to the internet with no issues whatsoever. No dropouts or anything. I was able to connect all of my devices to the wireless signal as well. Overall super happy with this router!

Bought to replace AC87U which started to give up after 9 years of service.

I am tech savvy. I build PCs and have built out multiple home networks going on 20 years. I really wanted this router to work, but after many hours of toiling away with it, I have come to the conclusion that it is utterly useless. Most of my Wifi clients kept having their connections reset and on top of that the router kept having issues with my cable modem causing the WAN connection to drop at random times.

The router is amazingly easy to setup and the ASUS user interface app on mobile phone is a walk in the park. Great Wifi speeds and no issues.

I bought this because I thought Asus is making good quality products. It is the most frustrating device. I have 7 different routers including 3 asus, 2 netgear and 2 TP link. This Asus router keep disconnecting and wifi signal is horrible. I did reset the router several times. I contacted the asus and in order to get stable connection they have suggested to disable AX option, dsf option, 160ghz option. Basically everything you pay for needs to be disabled. I still have issues and now they want me to fill out form with log info and send it to asus to be tested on their lab. The wifi signal is 10% of what they are advertising. I have only 1400 sq feet townhouse. In the meanwhile my older netgear which cost less than $100 doing 100 times better. This is a real life experience reviews. Please be advice that you will pay for options that you have to disable. Do not buy this router.

This wifi router A) Starts an unsecured wifi network on power up, and B) did not require physical access to the router to configure it. I might just be old-fashioned or whatever but this seems like a really big lapse in security that places a lot of faith on the software and hardware running on the router and the software and hardware running on connected computers. Faith that would really be unnecessary if the router just came with a secure network on startup and a custom sticker on it that says, hi, this secure wifi networks default password is [randomized string exclusive to this router]

I love Asus routers. This is the 3rd I have owned in 12 years. My old one was still working well. But I wanted to get the latest in security and speed. I get Spectrum broadband. On my old router the throughput speed was 30 to 45 mps. As soon as I installed this router the speed jumped to 70 mps consistently.

Not working. Not compatible to connect my cams Ring and Nest. I need to return to another brand of router.

We cut the cord with our cable company and need to upgrade the WiFi in our house. So far I am very pleased with coverage and signal strength we are getting from the unit. It was a bit on the expensive side but we will be ready for the future since it WiFi 6 compliant. Connecting to router using the app was a bit confusing at first.
