Router does it all, it keeps cool its powerful and can handle anything you throw at it, I run custom merlin firmware and that literally doubles how much I like it, everything keeps up to date you have any type of function you wish to call on it.

I lost my network. I had to physically connect printers that worked on my network. I could barely understand the fellow from Asus customer service. His accent was extreme and I had to ask him to repeat himself many times.

We cut the cord with our cable company and need to upgrade the WiFi in our house. So far I am very pleased with coverage and signal strength we are getting from the unit. It was a bit on the expensive side but we will be ready for the future since it WiFi 6 compliant. Connecting to router using the app was a bit confusing at first.

Tl:dr - has fully official ota update for wire guard VPN client on router level to connect to your vpn provider

Pros:

Router started out great. Liked the interface. And once set up seemed to be pretty decent. But, 2.4Ghz kept dropping out. And the only way to get it back was to hide the SSID. Save that setting. Then show the SSID. And save the setting again.

I dont rely much on wifi for devices except for my cell.

Very disappointing!!! The lights are on and no one is home. WiFi doesn’t work most of the time on most devices. The indicator lights tell you everything is fine, but don’t expect to access the internet without numerous resets. I’ve had other Asus routers that work great, but this thing makes a bad paperweight and an even worse router. (Asus tech support didn’t help—and the router is still too big to be a good paperweight).

Wonderful so far. I’ve always had good luck with ASUS.

Straight forward install. Installed new firmware first thing. Checked the signal strength and it was pegged out 30 ft from outside the home away from the unit. If it had not been for my nieghbor having one I probably would not have purchased due to so many negitive 1star reviews. Honestly I dont get it. Easy install and what a WOW factor for performance.
