> 3 dayInstructions inside were terrible... no detail. I had to research for a new tech support number, found it, called it. Essentially I was told the only way to get the wireless wifi router to work was to hard wire it! Uhm.... thats not why I spent that kind of money. Returned.

> 3 dayRange is strong throughout the house. My signal used to drop in the garage and backyard but now stays strong and I get almost full speed out of my Spectrum 200/10. Usually Im at 230/11. However, I have yet to see my Note 10+ connect higher than 866Mbps. Probably because I dont have a faster connection. on 2.4Ghz, wifi6 brought my download speeds up over 100Mbps for the first time. I have had a couple wifi drops, but they seem short lived and random. Not worried at this time as it hasnt interrupted any streaming or gaming.

> 3 dayOverall the product is a fail because I have had to replace it after 10 months due to wireless failure. When I first started using the device after initial installation the performance and wireless distance were fantastic. Then after about 6 months in service I started to notice wireless lockups, drop outs, and weird performance issues w/home automation devices and wireless speakers. Devices would start having problems connecting requiring reboots even after a hard reboot of the router. Tried configuring software reboots on a schedule, thinking the firmware was buggy, and that did not help and made things worse. To fix the stability problem required a reboot of the hardware. I disabled the advanced security features, reloaded the firmware, reset the network to factory default w/no configurations, all the recommended fixes for the problem and end result is defective hardware at 8 months old - what a waste for a router that sells for +$300.

> 3 dayIf you do decide to use the built-in AI protection feature to secure your network, be aware that all of your traffic is analyzed by ASUS and possibly their third party partners. So, any live traffic is going to be scanned and your private information could possibly be sold to 3rd party agencies. This is an optional feature, and they do show you a TOS now (before they didnt). So, use your own judgement before enabling the AI Protection feature.

> 3 dayThere is nothing to dislike on this unit. I have a 4300sq foot house and the unit is all the way on one side of the house and it broadcast strongly to the opposite side of the house. Wirelessly it is super fast, the units GUI is so easy to use also.

> 3 day10/17/22: Updated to 5 stars. Original firmware this router came with was 3.0.0.4.386.41700 which was frustrating dropping the internet connection daily (DHCP WAN issue). Upgraded to firmware 3.0.0.4.388.20518 and its been stable so far! Will post updates as I have more time to test it thoroughly. The addition of VPN fusion support is a win too! I did not use the web interface or app to update the firmware automatically. Downloaded the firmware from Asus website. Reset the router to factory defaults. Plugged in a PC via ethernet cable then updated firmware. Reset the router to factory defaults again, disabled Smart Connect/band steering, then manually configured the router to account for older devices on my network (up to MCS 9 256 QAM for 2.4 Ghz and left 5 Ghz on Nitro/1024 QAM). Im playing things a bit safe with those settings but your mileage may vary depending on the devices on your network.

> 3 daySo I bought this product thinking Asus is really a good brand - well not in routers it seems. AX88U spec’s met all of my requirements and spent the last week getting the office ready for the install. Routers are usually a quick easy install, this was not the case to where I needed to call support. After their support went through their checks, they said the product was defective and I need to return it to the seller. This was a brand new product! I hoping I can return but I will be looking for another brand (due to defective product right out of the box or just plain horrible support - either one is not good if you are looking for reliable service). My recommendation - stay away from Asus routers.

> 3 dayI have Frontier FIOS (formerly Verizon market) I own my G1100 from VZ and so its been giving me problems 3 years in. I didnt want to rent my router from Frontier so i been researching on reddit and came across this router. Essentially i had difficulty getting the lease to release from the G1100 and ended up calling Frontier who released both the ONT and Router. after that the set-up was easiest via the ASUS app. And i already own an RT68U thats set-up for AP. After set-up the speeds were big especially for Wifi. Plus range was so much better. I am overall happy with the router. Its a bit bulky but seems like a reliable router so far.
