This would not maintain a good signal upstairs for us. Our house is not that large, around 1900 sq ft 1960s houseand this would not allow any devices upstairs to reach over 30 MBPS. Tech support decided we had a defective unit. We replaced it and it still had the same issue so we returned. Might work in newer homes,

The main router frequently disconnects and drops all internet connection and starts to flash it’s red led. This is extremely cumbersome and occurs multiple times a day. When this occurs all nodes and clients disconnect and loose connection. This results in extremely poor WiFi calling experiences, stopped playback of movies and games and disconnected cameras to name a few. If you depend on a stable connection for work this is particularly frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I have had this router for many months now and have continued to update the firmware and app but the experience has not improved at all. Recently I’ve read on forums that this issue has plagued others as well. I feel this product has not lived of to the expectation of providing a reliable connection consistently.

I bought this because of reviews in magazines, tech websites, and online ratings. Set up not too bad, although it’s tricky. Great range in our 2-story home, Internet signal is strong, and works great . . . When it works. Intermittent connectivity issues and unstable Wi-Fi problems. If using this for Zoom meetings or streaming, expect problems, lags and unstable signal every 20-30 minutes. Very aggravating and disappointing, considering the price of this unit.

TL;DR - Super good performance once you get it setup and nice mobile app, but glitchy setup.

I like that it is compact and that the lid works like it should, but I feel it is too sensitive. I have to leave it out in the open and cant put it under the open shelf area in my bathroom because the shelf (which is 3 above the lid) activates that sensor, thus it stays on and wont work correctly.

This unit was blazing fast. For a week. And then it would restart every 10 minutes. For an entire day I tried a myriad of steps. Removing devices from my network, using the base router only, turning off some of the software features, and finally a complete factory reset. And then I noticed a review on another retail site posted the day after I purchased this unit from a user reporting the EXACT same problem. Worked great....until it didnt. Unit was in a cool room so it was not a heating problem. Asus used to be my preferred vendor for standard routers but this unit is boxed up to go back and a competitors unit is in its place. My wife works from home a couple days a week and fortunately today was not one of them but I cant have unreliable equipment on my network.

These arent fast or reliable. These are horrible mesh with an horrible app. They consistently drop signal and need restarted daily! Stay away!

I have a 3,000 sq ft home with some unique layout issues for Wifi signals. I started with the Orbi system which had good performance but had reliability issues (the router had to be restarted multiple times) to resolve. I then replaced the Orbi system with the Linksys AX5300 and AX4200. I had 2 units of the AX5300 but i needed an extra unit of the AX4200 so that I can get a good signal to the external ring camera by the garage. I also needed an extra unit of the AX4200 to reach the master bedroom (the farthest point from the modem/router). So i had 4 units altogether to get good coverage. However my Alexa devices took multiple requests to get to the internet, and the Ring Camera took a couple of requests to get the streaming video. So i purchased and installed the 2 Asus Zen Wifi and these 2 units are outperforming the 4 Linksys units. It easily gets a good signal to the external Ring Cameras and I no longer have to ask Alexa twice or the Ring Camera twice. The bandwidth on the wifi has increased from 300 mbps to 500 mbps according to Ookla speed tests. The latency is better, the connection is solid and reliable and Im very impressed with this performance.

The mesh system worked great for the first 5 months of operation. The remote node maintained a back haul connection on the 6ghz channel with out any problems. After 5 months in operation, the node has started dropping device connections, and dropping its back haul connection. Now I am having to continually optimize the node to reestablish connections. When that doesn’t work, I have to reboot the node I order for it to reestablish the back haul connection. Sometimes it will switch to a 5ghz back haul, and when that happens, speeds drop to 1mbps down and .5mbps up. Basically useless. I wish I would have listened to the other reviewers before purchasing. Firmware is up-to-date. Problems started happening without any changes to the firmware. I’m now looking to switch to a different brand to solve our Wi-Fi needs.
