In my experience, the mobile app yield better results when connecting the mesh network for initial setup. For some reason when using a pc, it kept stalling trying to find the node. Only have two computers at home that can use the wifi 6e option, but I bought these so I can have a better connection between my pc and the other appliances that use wifi (12 in total). I dont get slow down spikes when random things being to download around the house anymore.

...but I dont. Its got features galore, and it seems like it would be very clever about allocating bandwidth to the many WiFi devices in my house. But it just doesnt work reliably enough. It will randomly drop devices, switch them from the closest node to one further away. Sometimes the two nodes wont connect, and I have to reboot them both several times before they find each other. Why? Who knows? Theres never much rhyme or reason to it. The little lights arent helpful. ASUS themselves provides no guidance. It just randomly doesnt feel like doing its job until you interrupt its AC several times.

Replaced an old Google mesh Wi-Fi system, Also bought a new TP link router That worked perfectly with this. Running in back haul mode, 3000 ft² home, no problems no drops, been 2 months

As for Wi-Fi 6 routers, Ive tried Asuss sub $300 gaming one, TPLinks sub $400 one. This one blows both of them out of the water.

The performance Ive been getting on this mesh system has been pretty good. When using 6E for back haul it only allows for connections to base satellite unit which limits range significantly. Wish 6E performance was better.

There were some reviews indicating issues, which worried me a bit, but I experienced none. Im glad I got an Asus router (lots of options to fiddle with and I can use my old repeater as an AiMesh node). I had it all set up within minutes. After I verified speed and coverage I turned the WiFi radios off on my AT&T BGW-XXX modem/router combo and set this units SSID and password to my old one and all (several dozen) devices around my house connected to this with no issue. Im getting speeds above 500 Mbps in most rooms of my house with pings between 18 and 35 ms. This is a speed increase of 10x in some areas of my house.

This was supposed to be the best wifi possible. Instead - it keeps disconnecting and instead was a massive waste of money. Id recommend going with a google wifi instead.

I have a 3,000 sq ft home with some unique layout issues for Wifi signals. I started with the Orbi system which had good performance but had reliability issues (the router had to be restarted multiple times) to resolve. I then replaced the Orbi system with the Linksys AX5300 and AX4200. I had 2 units of the AX5300 but i needed an extra unit of the AX4200 so that I can get a good signal to the external ring camera by the garage. I also needed an extra unit of the AX4200 to reach the master bedroom (the farthest point from the modem/router). So i had 4 units altogether to get good coverage. However my Alexa devices took multiple requests to get to the internet, and the Ring Camera took a couple of requests to get the streaming video. So i purchased and installed the 2 Asus Zen Wifi and these 2 units are outperforming the 4 Linksys units. It easily gets a good signal to the external Ring Cameras and I no longer have to ask Alexa twice or the Ring Camera twice. The bandwidth on the wifi has increased from 300 mbps to 500 mbps according to Ookla speed tests. The latency is better, the connection is solid and reliable and Im very impressed with this performance.

This mesh system is average in my opinion. For the price I would like to see a little better performance. I haven’t owned any other Wifi6E systems so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I have owned Wi-Fi 5 mesh system that had significantly better range. The speed of this unit is fine id say, but the signal range and the user interface is slow. What I mean is when I visit the router web page it freezes up all the time. I have to cycle power on the main unit to get it back responding. Nothing freezes with Wi-Fi access just the user interface. Very annoying! So for speed its 5 of 5 but because of other issues I can only give it a 4 of 5.
