01-04-2025The installation docs were terrible. After working with an Asus tech we did a simple install and the remote routers were installed as AiMesh routers. If the install instructions used this method, I would have avoided the multiple problems I encountered.

> 3 dayThis provides excellent speeds and coverage. However, I have never had so many issues with stability in a router.

> 3 dayI grabbed this back in February of this year, and it worked fine for about two months or so. Then last month the secondary node just stopped connecting to the mesh anymore and we had to factory reset both to get anything to work again. And now the whole thing goes down every few hours and needs to be rebooted - sometimes a couple times before both nodes show up in the app and everything functions again. Will absolutely never be buying another networking solution from ASUS after this.

> 3 dayAfter setting this up, including finding what I thought was a good location for the satellite router, all was working fine... for awhile. I enjoyed not having to rely on my range extender with my old router and connections to the new wi-fi network were seamless, even as I moved around the house. Then after a couple of weeks, the two routers lost connection with each other. Not only that but the main router refused any connection for managing it, via the app or the web interface. The only way to regain control was to power cycle the main router. Following this, the 2 routers had to be placed near each other again in order to reestablish their relationship. Once done, I placed the satellite at a new location, closer to the main router, then optimized the connection for the new spot. Again, all seemed well, until they lost site of each other again. The same things all over again. I repeated this dance for a few days, then decided to try a wired backhaul connection. Much to my surprise, the same disconnect eventually happened with the wired backhaul. Fortunately I had a couple of days left in Amazons 30-day return policy and the package is currently on its way back.

> 3 daySystem is easy to install/set up. I have a 2-story house with a basement. Router is upstairs, node is on first floor. Excellent coverage, even in the basement. I would highly recommend this system to anyone.
