> 3 dayMy 7 yo and 5 yo love that these are some of their fave songs but in Mandarin Chinese. The pros are its sturdy, has 2 volumes and off sound switch. The only con is that the book uses simplified Chinese and we prefer traditional. My 5 yo even brought it into preschool for show and tell and his teacher thought it was great for the other students to hear their fave songs in another language. Overall a great learning and song book for children and makes a great gift!

> 3 dayLet me tell you why this book, like the first, is so amazing – it’s not just a book, it’s a: (1) board book; (2) song book with music and singing; (3) book with some of the most popular Chinese nursery rhymes and translated American nursey rhymes that you all know; (4) interactive toy; and (5) a bilingual book in English, Chinese and Pinyin pronunciation – all rolled into one awesome book! What a wonderful concept! The author/singer is a mommy who created this book for her baby – she has a beautiful soothing voice and the songs brought me back to my childhood as well as when my son was a baby/toddler. Music is so important for babies and children. It has been shown that listening to music helps children develop the ability to decode auditory data and sharpen their auditory memory - abilities which are fundamental to language comprehension. This book will help your kids learn Chinese without it feeling like a lesson. The songs in this book are written in English with the Chinese and Pinyin pronunciation next to each phrase. Even if you can’t read Chinese, you can still sing along with the author by reading the Pinyin pronunciation. You will understand what you are singing/reading because the English is right there for you. This is also a fun and easier way to learn how to read the Chinese characters, too. As an added bonus, because this book is so sturdy and the song buttons are easy to push, your little ones can read/play with this book by themselves! Need a break for a few minutes? Give them this book!

> 3 dayIts a great intro to Mandarin Chinese for my little one. We bought the first book so we definitely had to get the second. The tunes are pretty catchy and I find myself singing to them too. The only thing I wish was that there were more songs that came with it than 6 but then again, too many songs might find my daughter struggling to learn them. Cant wait for your next one!

> 3 dayMy one year old baby loves both the first and second BaoBao Learns Chinese music books. She can easily press the cute buttons to play music. She loves the catchy songs and cute illustrations. I took some Chinese classes as a kid and some of the lyrics are simple enough to follow along. This book is helping my daughter and I learn new words through music. Its more fun that way and it makes it easier to retain the information through repetition of lyrics. I cant wait for the next book to come out!

> 3 dayMy daughters preschool is amazing. The best. It also happens to be a Mandarin immersion program. In the time of COVID my daughter hasnt had as much exposure to learning the language as we would like.... it should be noted that both her parents do not speak Mandarin... This book has been one of my best COVID purchases (and there have been a lot). Heres what I appreciate about the book: - My daughter can easily play all the songs herself, she is 2.5, and has spent up to half an hour BY HERSELF playing the songs over and over again. - The songs sound nice - this isnt cheesy kids music. I enjoy listening to the music too. It also has two volume settings. - All the songs have corresponding copy in Pinyin (so I can phonetically follow the songs), Chinese characters, and English (so I can understand the context of the song and discuss it with my daughter). - The book is sturdy, the pages are thick. It can withstand toddler abuse. When my daughter outgrows it I feel confident that I can pass it to the next child to enjoy it and it will still be in good shape. This book is truly a delight - Ill be purchasing it for her classmates for their upcoming birthdays.

Greater than one weekMy twin granddaughters, age 2 just love this book as much as the first. They are being raised bilingual and this helps them learn familiar words. How about a third book for Christmas or maybe Chinese New Year.

Book Mama
> 3 dayWeve had this book for months and what a godsend it is, all the more during the pandemic. My 17 month old daughter sits and plays the songs happily, and we all enjoy listening to the authors beautiful voice and real instruments played by hand (so different from the tinny or electronic sound or many childrens toys). This will be my holiday gift to all friends with babies and toddlers. We have no Chinese background and I would get these books if they were in another language too, though Im delighted that my child is learning to say and sing some Mandarin, early in life. The book itself is well made and very durable, even after months of handling by a toddler. The volume is adjustable and good at both levels, unlike other sound books that are too faint or too loud. The songs are a great mix of familiar English nursery tunes, and Chinese songs. This mama is learning to sing the words in Mandarin...maybe its just a start for me too :)
