We love the first book (red) and was thrilled when this second version was released! My toddler is equally enthralled with the new songs - sometimes she takes out both books so she can sing along with two songs at the same time (thank goodness there is a volume control option!) I especially appreciate the addition of “You Are My Sunshine”. Since it’s one of my toddler’s favorite English songs, I loved knowing the characters words and pinyin so I can sing it to her in Chinese.

Love these books! Definitely fills a need for Chinese American families! My baby is obsessed with the songs!

Let me tell you, my daughter LOVES music and this book has quickly become her favorite! She is 2.5 and loves that it has songs she already knows (and a few new ones) but it helps her connect with the songs even if they are in a language she doesn’t know. She sings some of the words of songs she’s always singing now in mandarin (or best she can mimic it), it’s the sweetest thing and really has me thinking she could pick up a language if I worked on it with her through songs and rhymes! I am loving it too because I can sing along (best I can) thanks to the phonetic spelling of each word! I may not get it all correct but it’s fun to try and I find myself thinking of the mandarin when I sing the English!

My family loves the first book so much and so I got this one as soon as it came out and we are all super happy with it. The book contains some classic Chinese songs as well as some songs that has the familiar American tunes. The author definitely put a lot of care and thought in creating this book, everything is just so well packaged and designed. I cannot speak or read Chinese, but want my child to learn Chinese, and this book is also teaching me Chinese along with my child. The sound are very clear and make it easy to follow each word for pronunciation purpose. This is a book that exceeded my expectation and I cant wait for more. I am getting just as much from this book as my child.

This is full of fun music and great exposure to a foreign language. We have both books and they are completely different. Highly recommended.

My 4YO son loves this book so much that he brings to bed and keep pressing the song to put himself to sleep. The singing is very soothing, not like the high pitch singing voice we hear from Spotify. I love the english translation of the song, so my husband who cant read Chinese can understand it. Highly recommend Bao Bao Learns Chinese books to all the Mandarin learning children.
