Greater than one weekI received this printer a week ago. I need to download a driver for it to work on my Mac. For a WHOLE WEEK, the Brother.com website has been down with a message that they are doing a system migration. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE????? They must be completely incompetent. I will return this printer if the website is still down on Monday. This is ridiculous.

> 3 dayI purchased this printer after returning a Canon printer that failed right out of the box with absolutely no availability of tech support. So far the Brother printer is performing perfectly, and the price was right, much less expensive than the Canon I returned. The set up was easy and the on line manual (available as a pdf) was laid out very clearly. The printer has worked perfectly, so there has been no need to contact Brothers tech support. There are a couple of features I would prefer to have been done differently, but the printer works as it was designed to, thus the five stars. I am very happy with this printer.

> 3 dayIve had this one for six months, and it works OK. Problem is, you actually CANNOT find Black Ink Cartridges for sale. It also seems impossible to refill the cartridge or reset the ink count, unlike other printers Ive had. Dont buy this one, unless you can also score a few cartridges at the same time.

The Facts
> 3 dayGood printer, but it isnt worth anything if you cant find replacement ink cartridges anywhere. I guess Brother missed the memo regarding ink cartridges being the product printer companies make their money on. So much for selling the printer itself as a loss leader. Good luck on your next product line. This one doesnt seem to be working out for you.

> 3 dayYou must always mess around with it to get it to print. I t isnt intuitive. Overpriced and the ink is also very pricey.

> 3 dayYouve all heard After the sale, its the service that counts! The printer gives very nice output, WHEN it works! Im on my SECOND unit, having replaced the first due to connectivity issues. 1) However, the scanning feature is fair at best. What really stinks is that they have REMOVED several features from the scan menu, such as Continuous Scan and Cropping. Why, WHY!!??!! 2) Whats even more annoying is the incredible incompetence of the support staff. Last night, the first agent i spoke with put me on hold for a loooooong time without even telling me she was going to do so. Finally, i had to disconnect. When i called back, I told the agent THREE times i had a scanning issue, not a printing issue. Yet, he insisted on taking me thru print diagnostics. He was so incompetent that the supervisor that was monitoring the call relieved him of duty. Finally, it was ME that figured out what was wrong! She offered to send me a set of inks, but, conveniently, those are out of stock. I wasted two hours, if not more!!! And FINALLY, after making EXTREMELY SURE that my entries are correct, their website tells me my login credentials are invalid!! How sad, Brother USED to make good equipment.
