Setup was a pain in the ass

Most of my printers thru the years have been Brother. A few times I tried some of the other brands due to Brother’s high cost of ink cartridges, but I always went back to Brother. iMO one of the best features of a printer is having the Duplex printing feature. Nowadays most of everything we purchase has the user manuals online from washing machines to electronic devices to countertop appliances. If there’s a 30 page user manual you can use the Duplex printing feature and only use 15 sheets of paper instead of 30. Less if you wish to do a book size. Well, Brother pulled a big one on this one! I purchased it for the Duplex printing feature. It wouldn’t work. It printed the first page, half way ejected the page, then drew the page back. I clapped my hands and said “Oh goody! The duplex feature is working!” Was I in for a big surprise. The darn thing spit out a blank page! I called Brother and after over an hour of speaking to different “agents” as they are currently called, and with me repeating the same refrain “But, but, the listing, the box states Duplex Printing.”, I was constantly informed “I’m sorry this model doesn’t have that feature.” I was ready to pitch it along with my phone out the door! In a nutshell Brother’s Customer Service sucks! To top it off the Black ink cartridge is no where to be located so at the moment I have a new printer which won’t work!

My work company bought this printer, we just need to double scan documents to our system, but it does not scan properly, everything has to be faced down to scan and second it does not double scan , also ink runs out pretty quick, had printer for less then 2 months and out of ink. But otherwise it’s a good printer, just not what we need it for, so we are stuck with this printer for right now

This printer/scanner is FAR better than I imagined. The build quality is just fine and maybe a step above what Id expect for the price but the features and software you get to customize it, wow. Very productive and very good print quality too. The self-feeder for making copies of sheets of paper is another unexpected feature for this price. I honestly cant believe it. Im super happy with it!

Do not buy. Black ink is not available.

Ive had it for a month now. We print occasionally and weve always had a need to have a printer for our needs. I have done some light printing and it prints very well. I have also printed from my iPhone and it works great. Scanning is quick and easy and turn a scan into pdf or image and you can send by phone using the brother app. I did a lot of research and read several reviews before my purchase. I also checked out printers at the stores. I found the Brother brand to be made better. Most of the popular competitor printers are plastic and flimsy. I found this one to be solid and well built. I read many reviews in which people said it was a quiet printer. My only complaint with this printer is that is on the louder side but not too bad. Its tolerable. For $99 (including starter ink), you cant go wrong with this printer. Highly recommend.

It took me about hour to set this up. The superscription offer is kind of annoying and in your face. Positives: The printer seem sturdy, responsive. It prints very fast. I am hoping they will start producing the black Ink soon as I see many of the one star reviews are regarding the ink shortage, not the printer itself. Neg: I am almost out of black ink and am unable to find black ink anywhere online. Retuning it today.

I love the ease of use, it has been a great printer. The down side is that you can not, I repeat CAN NOT get black ink. I would give it a 0 star on ease of getting black ink, colors are plentiful.
