> 3 dayIve got 2 Brother printers and I think they are the best. I really like the way the ink cartridges are installed and removed. Paper input tray is also easy to load. They are easy to setup and connect on-line. I am happy with the print quality.

12-06-2025Value for my money. I was debating on getting a really expensive on until I saw this. It truly does everything, and the ink refill process is hassle free, you just take the old one out with a button, and clip the new one in. Had an ink gauge that tells you how much ink is left. All the trays you need. Two scanning mode: feeder or Scan-on-glads. Overall, I love this scanner/printer. It is wireless btw, but can be wired, and you would need to download the appropriate app on the device youre printing on, but its very easy.

> 3 dayDo not buy this printer!!! Replacement black ink cartridges do not currently exist. This is my first and last Brother product. Bother does not support their products. Trash company.

> 3 dayThis printer beeps every 15 seconds saying you need to enter a password to get a firmware update. Will it catch fire if no firmware update? How irritating. Then after Googling how to enter the password, it turns out the super secure password is printed on the back of the printer. The interface to enter the password is terrible. Press one wrong button and you start from scratch. Who thought this security scheme up?

> 3 dayThis was a great printer until it needed more ink. My previous brother printer would run out of ink and you could trick the cartridge into printing for way, way longer. It’s such a con. This machine told me it was running low and now finally won’t print anymore even though I can hear ink rattling around. I’ve been trying to trick it to think it still has ink but it won’t work. These new ink cartridges have little computer chips on them which make it impossible I’m pretty sure. And now to top it all off the dang machine won’t even let me scan anything as well! The entire machine is stuck until I get more of their expensive-say-I-am-empty-before-I-really-am ink. It’s not right. These companies are legal thieves. It’s insane.

> 3 dayI actually use this as a desktop printer work two days a week instead of using it in my home office three days a week, because I already have a cover laser. But I wanted a small unit to print two occasionally, that had full wireless support not only to get on the network but to create a direct network so I could print from an iOS device. I wanted it inexpensive so I wasnt expecting heavy duty paper trees or anything and I want and I wanted it to print nice. This unit does all that. It goes to sleep also if you leave it on which I really like. its the perfect desktop printer but it gets four stars because no inkjet printer gets five stars. they all have their quirks but the biggest one is the that ink for any inkjet printer from any company comes out to about 3000 bucks a gallon. This printer is no different, the cost of ink It is how they make their profit, I get it. but if you want that simple printer for school or work that does double sided printing and copies and wireless support, this works great.

> 3 dayThere is no black ink cartridges available anywhere for this printer! Cartridge lc401bk in regular or high yield sizes. I called several places. Brother website, staples etc. Not in stock. Great printer but is useless when black ink runs out. Hoping it becomes available soon but does not look good! Returned and got mfc j1205 which comes with ink they claim will last one year! Well see. Besides more ink refills are available now. About the same price. No feeder. Uses the app instead small screen on printer. Great output and easy setup.

> 3 dayThe printer gave me no headache to set it up. It was smooth, the apps feel premium and the printing is perfect. Scanner saved me from using camera apps, and it can scan upto 1200 dpi. The build of the printer is premium, all the clicks and mechanical noises sort of give you a calming sense and makes it a product you want to keep on using.

> 3 dayI have a Brother from 2015, great. This one, not so much. Ive never printed in color, yet Im out of yellow ink because it is constantly testing itself. Now that I am out of yellow, which I never use, I CANNOT PRINT. I have a Brother paperweight until I order more ink that I DO NOT USE. Beyond that, NO USB port, if that matters to you. Yet another example of an improvement that only helps the manufacturer, not the consumer.
