> 3 daySeems like a cheap unit. It works and gets the job done, but if there were other options at this price point, Id be all over it. I cant bring myself to spend 400+ on a printer so this review is more about my wallet than it is the product. Ran out of ink within 2 months of very light use.

> 3 dayI have not called support so dont feel right putting an answer there, but if I have to , I will put 4 stars. My biggest negative is that this printer has been out for a minimum of 2 years. Why is the ink refills so high. specially compared to the 480. I realize the 480 is older the ink refills have always been cheaper. Even when first brought out to market.

> 3 dayWe purchased this printer in May of 2022. I am pleased to report that we have not yet completely run out of ink, but then again we are the type to print about 2 dozen pages when we buy a printer and then probably 2 pages every three months after. Unfortunately, were low enough on Yellow that the printer will not stop absolutely screaming at us for not having ink. So today I decided I would order up everything to have on hand. The cartridges are effectively out of stock pretty much everywhere. But... This printer is not very noisy while its being used, but every once in a while it will kick on to do a cleaning cycle of itself and it is the loudest thing I think Ive ever heard and it very conveniently decides to do it in the middle of the night, and fills the house with its ridiculous clattering. The software is also largely better than competitors like HP- but unfortunately, like its competitors, Brother will not miss a single opportunity to demand that you subscribe to this, sign up for that, allow them to collect this, and to set up an account for that. I have to say that $99 for the convenience of printing probably about 50 pages at home at any time over the course of 9 months is *almost* worth it for the convenience, and again, Brother is still *miles* ahead of HP in the quality of its offering and software... but thats a really, really, really low bar. The scanner works pretty good. Ultimately, I was never able to figure out how to get this to work with my network due to configuration issues, so I just use a 50 foot USB 3.0 cable in the rare cases that I actually need to use this thing; I cant leave the machine in my office, it is way too loud for it to constantly be going through cleaning cycles at random times when I can leave it in a seldom used room and just run a cable to it. I think its reasonable to expect that if you could get ink, and if you could leave it in a room youre not in when it wants to clean itself, and if you use it more frequently than I do to justify the purchase, youd likely be happy. But I think the inability to stock the ink alone makes this a 1 star product. Im curious as to what they are doing for customers who sign up for auto refills. Look for yourself at the other reviews you will find that MANY reviews reference not being able to find ink only a few months after purchase.

> 3 dayYou must always mess around with it to get it to print. I t isnt intuitive. Overpriced and the ink is also very pricey.

> 3 dayI bought this from Amazon and all was fine from their end but Brother stopped making black ink cartridges (they say they are currently have no supplies but can’t reimburse me for this useless paperweight since I need a printer today and will have to purchase a new printer. I don’t trust secondary suppliers. Don’t waste your money on Brother products in my opinion as they do not keep the products in supply.

> 3 dayI don’t have much to say except that I feel that this printer was worth the price especially for the first time purchasing a printer in general. I liked that it was very easy to set up with clear instructions on what to do. The print is great for the price I paid and it’s really easy to use. Just wanted to add when first setting up the printer it will ask for a password to update the printer, you can find the password behind the printer along with a serial number you will need. Other than that, it’s a great purchase.
