> 3 dayPrinter becomes nothing more than an over sized paper weight as there is no black ink for sale on the market anywhere. I see other inks for other printers available on the market, but the LC401 black ink isnt available, tried to refill my cartridges my self but there was no air purge port and I ended up popping the plastic cover with the air pressure from refilling it. Printer is a complete scam.

> 3 dayCumbersome to use, annoying and not intuitive. Absolutely silly way to update software

> 3 dayThis printer is a INK GUZZLER. And the worst part is that there arent any generic ink catridges you can buy. Your forced to buy only brother ink catrdges. STAY AWAY.

07-06-2025We have had two Canon Pixma printers that have been sub-par and didnt withstand heavy use in our homeschool. This printer is amazing in comparison to those - prints almost instantly, good ink quality, even appreciate the lit-up screen in comparison to the Canon which didnt have that. Its not going to be as good as a laser printer, but for $100 this is a great buy.

> 3 dayThe Brother mfc-j1010dw The most unintuitive printer and the most difficult to learn of all the printers I have had. I consider myself an experienced user having had printers on networks or on PCs for about 40 years . I’ve had several brother printers and decided that the reviews warranted this particular model. It was very inexpensive and I’m sorry I paid even that low amount. If you are a casual user, do not buy this machine as you will get very frustrated. Frequent users can probably learn their way around. I just received a message on the printer that the EZ print subscription needs re-ordering. I don’t have the EZ subscription and found it difficult to eliminate the message. This is a Brother marketing ploy. With the message still on I was unable to print. I finally looked online and found how to erase it in order to continue printing.

> 3 dayThe printer itself is fine. I purchased it for home use, so I my kids could print out their homework assignments. But now, after about two months, the printer is completely out of black ink. And guess what... you cant buy more! There are plenty of color ink cartridges available, but there are no black cartridges. Anywhere. Not even any third-party compatible cartridges. Dont waste your money here. Youre going to spend good money on a printer that will work great until it runs out of ink and then youll be left in a lurch while your kids are complaining that they cant print off their book reports.

> 3 dayPrinter OK, kind of cheap feeling, but the killer is try to find replacement cartridges for it. You cant get the black ones at all. Apparently for several months. Brother just has excuses. Not sure how they can still sell these knowing they have no supplies. Not worth the risk. Going back.

> 3 dayA great printer, if you have ink. Black ink is UNAVAILABLE! Anywhere! Even from Brother!

> 3 dayHas this printer for a while before suddenly its just perpetually listed as offline. I tried to remove and readd it in my control panel, and after removing, its not even searchable any more. Ive followed every online guide on how to get it to be back online so I can print, and nothing. Its a joke, because I can still scan from it, so obviously this thing can connect to my devices, but I cant print from my device itself. Ive uninstalled the Brother iPrint & Scan app and redownloaded it, and I cant even get past the select machine section of the setup wizard, its unable to find the printer, even though the printer says Ive successfully connected it to the wi-fi network. Worthless waste of money, cant even use it as a printer no matter what I try.
