    Price is up there but it worked great and would highly recommend anybody to use this kit. Time serts are trash don’t use them unless you what to do the job twice. Helli coils are temporary as well. This is the way to go, do it once!!!

    This is a quality repair kit. The reamer and thread tap are very sharp and made from high strength tool steel. The design was well engineered for the intended purpose. The guide bushing for the team and tap worked perfectly the keep the hole and threads in alignment. Repairing the failed threads is a great alternative to replacing the cylinder head… much less expensive. The blow out plug to identify the cylinder valve closed position is ingenious and easy to use. The instructions are clear and the YouTube videos are a big help as well. This kit is not inexpensive but the quality of the tool is worth the expense.

    Liked the reamer and quality of the heilacoil . plugs loosen up and kit is the best for fixing a stripped plug hole in the head.

    Two weeks after I bought my 99 f 250 it spit out a spark plug, it had been repaired previously, I could tell (Im an industrial mechanic), and was spit out, then stuck back in with partial threads, and epoxied, to sell the vehicle, to me!, well I dont usually pull spark plugs when buying vehicles. after lengthy research, because I only want to fix it once, I settled on this kit, and ordered two extra inserts to do the entire motor . I was taking my time, you will need an air compressor and a good air ratchet, after 8 hours actual work time I was finished, and I do have experience with tools! bottom line, after 20,000 miles, the motor is still running great, no problems. was it worth it, yes, figure out the cost of two new heads and then the labor or lost time for a re-repair on a repair. the kit was not packed tight,and the tools were out of place and banged around, which for tool steel is not good, its so hard its fragile, fortunately they were ok, but I did not recieve the video, but they sent it out right away, although I had finished the job before I received it, point being , they made good.You need or someone needs mechanical common sense to pull this off,if you have a trust worthy mechanic you can give them the job, tell them you want your tools back tho,

    my engine had already had a repair done on that sparkplug hole that had failed. I thought I was going to be forced to replace the head but this kit was heavy duty enough to fix it and it stay fixed. its the best repair kit I have found.,

    I used this kit and it was extremely easy to use. Literally just put the air hose in that spark plug hole and bump the starter until the air hose comes out to ensure valves are closed. Rheem the hole, blow it out, rethread the hole, blow it out, brake clean, repeat until you are certain all shavings are out of the hole. Put 271 red loctite on the insert, anti seize the spark plug, and torque to 22 ft lbs. Retorqued other plugs to 17 ft lbs. Instructions were clear. Way worth it. If you are contemplating, dont. Just buy the kit. It works.

    I blew a spark plug in cylinder 4 near the firewall of my 2004 mustang gt. I bought a helicoil kit to patch things up like a band aid. That didnt last for long. So, I decided to shell out the big bucks for a true repair kit. I decided to go with this kit because several reviewers mentioned using it for their mustangs as well. The kit comes with all you need to accurately rethread a previously repaired hole. The thread inserts are excellent, theyre beefy and solid. They fit nice and snug in the tapped hole, with the help of some jb weld. I have yet to encounter any problems yet, if i do ill update.
